Having done this album and committed yourself to doing it exactly the way you wanted to, will take that philosophy into choosing movies now, too?
Sure. I haven't done any movies since I finished the record, so my choice is to continue down this path. Finding the next project is going to be a bit harder, because what is going to top the experience of making that record? Making the record in Woodstock was the most exciting path of my life. I just want to choose wisely for my next movie, because it is going to be hard to get off the road. I love this record and I'm going to really like being on the road with it, so it has to be the right film.
You had great chemistry with John Krasinski in 'License to Wed,' this summer, and it really showed more of your comedic talents. Any chance you'll be making a guest appearance on 'The Office'?
I would love to, but I doubt if they would want me. Everybody and their brother wants to be on that show.
You've done a lot of great guest appearances on shows like 'Entourage' and 'Scrubs' ... would you consider doing your own sitcom?
I don't think that's in the cards for me right now. I would never say never, but I'm such a fan of comedy, so it would have to be something that was really genius, with great writing. Something like 'The Office.' Or '30 Rock.' It's one of my most favorite shows.
What other shows do you regularly watch?
'60 Minutes' is my favorite show. I'm a '60 Minutes' fanatic. 'The Daily Show' is another obsession. And I love 'Reno 911'! I'm obsessed. And 'Dog Bites Man.' Have you seen 'Dog Bites Man'?
.
No, I haven't seen it.
It's on Comedy Central. It's with Zach Galifianakis, and oh my god it's so good! It's on iTunes, you have to download it!
You've always come across as a cool, down-to-earth person, so every time I see you in a tabloid, it just seems so not you. And I always wonder, does that that whole experience feel surreal to have to deal with? Especially when you aren't courting it the way some celebrities do?
Well, I think you just sort of deal with it on a daily basis, on a case-by-case situation. It's not something I'm terribly used to, but I kind of feel like I've grown up and am more comfortable with just letting things roll off my back. It does tend to feel invasive, and not just for me. I think, if you're even remotely in the public eye, there is no way to escape this scrutiny. So it's just a weird bullet to have to deal with.
Just to go shopping and not be able to do it without people watching you and photographing you.
It's more about, "Oh, Mandy was in this store and she bought this," and you're like, "Really?! That's news? That's interesting? It's not even that interesting to me."
