July 30 -- Some 'Big Brother 8' fans are saying that cutie Mike Dutz made a huge error in judgment by showing his allegiance to the self-destructing Kail during the Power of Veto competition. The quiet painting contractor decided to prove his loyalty by trying to get Head of Household Dick out of the competition instead of joining in with the majority to get Jen out.

AOL TV's Angel Cohn spoke with Mike shortly after his eviction to find out what he thought of this summer's twist, which houseguests drove him crazy and if he regretted his decision to stay true to his original alliance.

Are you surprised you were evicted so early?
I didn't see myself going this early, but knowing the place I put myself in earlier this week [during the POV competition], I pretty much had a feeling that I was going to be evicted.

Do you blame the houseguests for getting a strong player like you out while they could?
No. I don't blame them. It is all in the game. I saw it coming, but I was trying keep my hopes up and think I could persuade some people to be true to their heart and vote the way they wanted to rather than coming up with a democracy of voting.

Well, America didn't want you to go home. We told Eric to vote Kail out.
That's good to know! It is enlightening to hear.

Are you regretful at all about taking Kail's side and ending up on the nomination block?
I'm not regretting what I did. I am glad that I did what I did, and I can show who I really am in spite of everything. At least I'm sitting here in good spirits and I'm happy.

What do you think of America's Player?
I was surprised to hear about it. I had no idea there was another twist in the house. I thought the only twist was with the enemies. It all makes sense now. Looking back I can kind of recall Eric acting peculiar on certain occasions. It makes sense to me now that it is him, but unless that information was given to me, I wouldn't have put two and two together ... at least not for a while.

Why'd you want to go on this show, are you a fan?
I first saw season six and was immediately hooked. I thought it would be a great challenge to go on this show and come out a victor in the end, sticking in tact with all those values of honesty, integrity and remaining loyal. I thought that would be the ultimate reward.

Staying honest is hard in this game.
Yeah, it would be very hard, but it would be deserved.

Were you at all worried that you would have an enemy in the house when you heard the twist?
No, not at all! I was 100 percent confident that there was no one coming down the stairs that was my enemy.

What's up with the Magnus and Kragnus thing? Who started that?
It was Zach and Dustin. Nick and I were doing our workout routine for the day and Zach and Dustin were a little bit bored and started mocking us.

Don't you, Magnus, have something like eight wives?
Seven wives that all fit in my pocket. It was just an activity for the house to participate in. It took some time to plan things up. It was something to do.

Everyone said you were so quiet. Was that part of your strategy?
It wasn't going to be initially. I went out and started immediate conversations with everyone in the house trying to pick their brain and find a subject to relate on. Some people in there were, to my surprise, unreceptive in the conversations. They shunned me off and it was one-sided.

Like who?
The first person to come to mind is Jessica. I really made numerous attempts to get anything from her about who she is as a person. It was like pulling teeth. When I ran out of questions that was when the conversation ended. Nothing was reciprocated. I then had to take a different approach with those people. All I really could do was kick back and try to observe as much as I could.
