'Big Brother 8' Receptionist Has No Regrets
Joe from 'Big Brother 8' Spills the Dirt About Dustin and Shares Some Naughty House Hijinks
|
July 23 -- Longtime 'Big Brother' fan Joe Barber was thrilled to get the chance to compete on the eighth installment of the hit summer reality show, but his plan to be the life of the party failed when his ex-boyfriend Dustin was placed in the house too. The duo desperately tried to get each other out but Joe's bad-mouthing of his ex didn't sit well with certainother residents and he was the second person evicted.
The fun-loving 23-year-old receptionist spoke with AOL TV's Angel Cohn and dished the dirt about his former flame, the shocking prank he pulled and what he thinks of Jen.
I was a little sad to see you leave so soon, you seem like a lot of fun.
I am tons of fun! I am really disappointed. I started the game pretty weakened, but really hit my stride once I was nominated but that just wasn't enough time to save myself.
What was your strategy before you found out that Dustin was going to be there?
Before I found out that Dustin was going to be there, my strategy was to win that first HOH and really set up a strong alliance of diverse individuals. I was going to try and get a meathead, a sexy girl and the old person in the house so that when they entered other alliances, they'd be able to be the ears of the group and then it would be super under the covers.
Any regrets about anything you did or said while you were out there?
Nope! I've got no regrets about anything I did or said. I wish maybe that I hadn't trash talked Dustin so much. Because when you talk poorly about someone, it reflects on you. It shows that you are someone that will say bad things about a person.

Do you think that's why Jen considered you one of the negative forces in the house?
I really do. Because I'm not a negative person in any way, shape or form, except in regards to the Dustin situation.
Jen's an interesting character.
Yeah! She's pretty interesting, she's nutty. She's all about herself. She's very self-absorbed. She lives in her own little world and it is only populated by one person, and that one person is Jen. Everything has to do with Jen. You can mention anything in human history that has ever happened, or will happen, and it has to somehow do with Jen.
Were you gunning for her if you had stayed in the house?
If I had stayed I would not have gone after Jen. Due to the fact that she was the one that was all about saving me. After she nominated me and put me on the block as the replacement, within an hour she had apologized for it and said that she had made a bad decision and went on to help me campaign. She thought it was a mistake realized she had put up an ally and someone who wasn't going to go after her. I was gunning for Dustin the whole time I was there. All I cared about was getting him out.
How would you rate the houseguests as a whole this season?
This season isn't as diverse as it usually is, it seems like everyone is in the same age range and had similar backgrounds, but this is hands down the best cast that was ever assembled. Every single person in that house is a star. Every single person had their own story to tell and their own quirks and qualities that made them unique and everybody is really upbeat. There are no duds this season.
