Do you think you made a mistake taking the trip and the money during a veto competition when everyone else passed?
No. I don't regret that, not one bit. Walking into this game I didn't really think that I had a good chance at winning, so I thought to myself, "If I'm not gonna win this thing, I'm gonna get it for all it's worth." And when those trip and prizes came up, I knew that I would take them the second they both came up on screen. I just decided to give the other people a chance to try for it first. But no one was taking it, so hey, if $5,000 is going to walk out the door, it's gonna walk into my pocket.
Now you mentioned you were going to take your girlfriend. Is this a girl who is a friend or a girlfriend girlfriend?
Actually, me being gay is a big joke. I actually just met Joe because we were fans of the show on the Internet, so we decided to plot all of this...
What?!
I'm totally kidding. [Laughs] No, she's my best girlfriend. We've been friends since freshman year of high school, and I promised her walking into this thing, "I'll be spending three months without talking to you so afterwards we'll go on vacation," and now I for sure will.
You actually seemed to sort of just take everything in stride. Why?
My theory, or philosophy, going in, was the less said the better. You can't get in trouble when you don't say anything. They can't hold anything on you again, so I was just like "nope!" You know, better left unsaid.
Are you finally retiring the gray shirt?
No, the gray shirt will definitely still be around. Why would I retire a good thing? It's my summer wardrobe piece until Sept. 21 when summer's no more. I'll be wearing that thing every single day.
Who do you want to most see join you in the sequester house?
That's a really good question. I think it's gonna be the best and the worst to see Dick walk in the house next. Dick or Eric. I think it would be best for the house if Dick were to leave this week, but I don't see that happening. I think it would be worst for me if I were to see Dick walk in because then I'd have to live with him. But, being in the jury house, you know, we're just a house full of losers, so hopefully that we can all get along because we're not striving for the same goal anymore.
Are you and Amber lifelong friends now?
Absolutely. Amber and I get along really well. We both had a lot to learn from each other, and I look forward to seeing her after the show and after this game ends, and I know that she feels the same way.
What's your take on Jen? Nice? Crazy?
She is definitely a person.
As opposed to what, an alien?
Well, she could be an alien, that's just the thing. You just never know with that girl. She's very shallow and very guarded. I'm not quite sure if she is a strong player or if she's playing dumb. If she's playing dumb, she's doing a good job. She could be a very strong player. For all I know, she could be the person whose gonna walk out of here winning this game because she was the best actress throughout the whole thing. So my take on her is kind of up in the air.
