I was a little nervous for you, though, when you went to confront Rebecca's ex-husband about how he had treated her. You were so nervy when you went up to him. Were you scared?
I tried my best, but I was stuttering a little bit. I was so scared! He didn't know we were coming (either). He just happened to be taking the garbage out, and we caught him completely by surprise. And I told the camera guys, "If he starts anything, you better start moving in."
She and you must have really enjoyed being able to drop his beloved car out of the airplane in that revenge fantasy.
It was so much fun! The adrenaline rush from it was awesome, and it was really gratifying for her. She's doing really well now, and still e-mails me.
What's the most outrageous divorce you've dealt with on the show?
I think the one where the guy blamed his wife for the fact that he came out as being gay. You know, I mean, I think that either you're gay or you're not, it's not because of your wife. And as a woman, it's just really tough. You want to understand it. If a guy leaves you for another guy, that really would kill your self esteem.
Did dealing with all these strangers' problems dredge up painful break-up memories for you?
It has, and with all the interviews we've done, some old stories have been dug up. There's one, about Sylvester, that'll be in PEOPLE magazine next week. It's an exclusive with PEOPLE, so I can't really talk about it, but yeah, it's been a little tough.
Have you finished taping this season? And will there be another season?
Right now we are finished taping (this season), and they have picked up a second season. Hopefully people will keep watching the show and enjoying it and we'll be back. So many people have contacted me, even friends, saying 'We love the show,' and 'I threw my plates in the trash can one by one, too' and just sharing stories about the things they did when they went through divorces. And how they wished they'd had that show on when they were going through it, because, you know, we're not trying to bash anybody. We're really just trying to help people, men and women, get themselves back.
