"Wire in the Blood" follows a criminal profiler as he helps police in a fictional northern England city. Robson Green plays Dr. Tony Hill, a gifted yet socially insecure clinical psychologist whose practice involves treating serial criminals. His acute sense of empathy -- for both the victim and the perpetrator of a crime -- proves an invaluable tool as he aids Detective Inspector Alex Fielding in tracking down a killer. Rounding out their team are Detective Superintendent Kevin Geoffries and Detective Constable Paula McIntyre. The show is based on characters from a series of novels by Val McDermid.
