Adapted from the critically acclaimed British miniseries "Viva Blackpool." Hugh Jackman, one of the show's executive producers, guest stars in the first episode as Nicky Fontana, Ripley's ruthless casino competitor. Bob Lowry, Paul Telegdy and Peter Bowker are executive producers.<#$>Originally premiering in a special Thursday night time period after the CBS smash "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Viva Laughlin" lost most of its substantial lead-in audience, then tanked further three nights later when it settled into its regular Sunday time period. CBS yanked the show after only two episodes, making "Viva Laughlin" the first cancellation of a scripted series in the 2007-08 season.
