The Real World Cast & Crew

The first true "reality show," Bunim-Murray's "The Real World" follows seven strangers as they share a house and interact with one another for several months. Cameras trailed the first season's participants as they lived together in a Manhattan loft and explored New York City (both professionally and personally). "The Real World" is often looked at as the first true "reality TV" series, creating a whole new genre of TV that continues to this day. Jonathan Murray (a documentary filmmaker) and Mary-Ellis Bunim (a former soap opera executive-producer) created the show for MTV.
