Creator Josh Schwartz earned a Writers Guild of America Award nomination in 2004 for his pilot script. The series underwent several changes during the 2006-07 season -- its last -- as Schwartz added short-lived new characters and phased out some of the "older" ones (namely, Mischa Barton as Marissa).
