Started by experienced web professionals, Vivabit began life as a web design and development consultancy, gradually concentrating more and more on the events side of our services, until events became our sole focus.

A Brief History of Vivabit

After many, many years jumping between one contract, freelance gig, and even the odd full-time job or two, front-end developer and HTML Dog (site and book) author Patrick Griffiths founded Vivabit in 2004.

As a best-practice development shop, consultancy, and training company, Vivabit hit the ground running. In 2005 we thought a conference might be, y'know, kinda cool. @media was born. And @media was very successful.

For @media 2006, an event over twice the size as the first @media, a good attendee management system was desperately needed. So we made one. We thought it was pretty bloody cool as well, and folks behind the company figured others could find it as useful as we did. With the help of Vivabit, out popped Event Wax.

The company was moving in a clear direction. One that was completely unexpected when it was originally formed but, hey, it was all good. Event-related work dominated our day-to-day work, so we thought screw it, let's drop this development/consultancy/training lark and concentrate on events!
