Sixteen candidates from all walks of life are tested for their intelligence, chutzpah and street smarts. Business tycoon Donald Trump serves as the ``master'' and his business empire, The Trump Organization, is the hub of the competition. Each week, Trump fires one candidate from the contest. In the final episode, one person is awarded a year-long assignment and the accompanying six-figure salary as ``the apprentice of a master.''
