Like another CBS reality show, "Big Brother," this one got its start as a hit in Europe. The show, a hit in Summer 2000, was followed by a sequel ("Survivor: The Australian Outback") in 2001 based in the Australian Outback.<#$>Richard Hatch won the first edition of the series.
