An interpretation of the Superman story features young Clark Kent coming to grips with his emerging superpowers. In its ninth season Clark takes on the role of protector of Metropolis, as he wrestles with his identity, torn between his Kryptonian heritage and his human past. New threats loom in the form of Metallo and Roulette, and old nemeses Toyman and Zod continue to haunt Clark, now known as ``the Blur.''
