What "American Idol" does for would-be pop stars, "Nashville Star" does for aspiring country artists. The talent contest takes singers from across the country and brings them together to perform for a group of judges. Audience voting determines who moves on and who goes home, with the winner receiving a recording contract. Albums by the show's first two winners, Buddy Jewell and Brad Cotter, debuted in the top five on the Billboard country charts. "Access Hollywood's" Nancy O'Dell was the original host, followed by LeAnn Rimes and Wynonna. The fourth season is hosted by pop songstress Jewel, assisted by last season's co-host Cowboy Troy. Judges for Season Four include Anastasia Brown (whose been with the show since its inception) and singers Randy Owen and Blake Shelton.
