Fame (1982) Cast & Crew

Description

Students at New York's famous High School for the Performing Arts pour their hearts and souls into their training to become stars in their chosen field in this TV series adaptation of a 1980 motion picture of the same title. They include Bruno, a keyboard artist and composer whose talent is matched only by his arrogance; Danny, an aspiring comic; Coco, an ambitious singer and dancer; Doris, an actress and writer; Leroy, who hopes his dancing will take him far away from the ghetto; Montgomery, whose mother had been a renowned actress; and Julie, an accomplished cellist from Michigan. Their teachers and mentors include dance instructor Lydia Grant, music professor Mr. Shorofsky and Mr. Crandall, the drama teacher. Despite strong reviews, "Fame" struggled in the ratings and NBC canceled it after a season and a half. The show continued in first-run syndication with somewhat new cast members through May 18, 1987.
