The series is executive-produced by Russell T. Davies and Julie Gardner and was created by Sydney Newman. "Doctor Who" is one of the longest-running TV shows in the history of the medium; it first premiered in 1963 and ran until 1996. This newest incarnation began airing on the BBC in 2005 and was soon seen in America on the Sci Fi network.
