Steve Guttenberg Elimination: Backstage Report
Steve, are you sad to leave the show?
<b>Steve:</b> The only thing I feel sad about is that I don't get to dance with <a href="http://television.aol.com/celebrity/anna-trebunskaya/507305" target="_blank">Anna Trebunskaya</a> every day anymore and also that we won't be on the show every week. I wanted her to be on more and more. Other than that, I feel great. I had a great time here. I made all these new and terrific friends.
Steve, what's next for you and will you continue to dance?
<b>Steve:</b> Sure. After this I want to keep dancing ballroom and Latin dancing. I want to keep having a great time. I've got some projects coming up. I can't talk about them yet. They're not finalized because we weren't sure how long I was going to be here.
Steve, who's the better dancer -- your partner Anna or her husband, <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/jonathan-roberts/507222' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Jonathan Roberts</font></a>?
<b>Steve:</b> Well, I don't want to make Jonathan feel bad. He's bigger and hairier, but Anna is the better dancer.
Anna, both you and Jonathan are out early. What will you do?
<b>Anna:</b> We'd been joking that if we both left on the night of the first double elimination that we'd go away for a vacation. After last season ended, Jonathan went on the 'Dancing With the Stars' tour. I was in England for three weeks. We only saw each other about two weeks over two and a half months. It was horrible! Friends of ours have a house in Fiji.
<a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/marlee-matlin/46423' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Marlee Matlin,</font></a> what will you miss most about Steve?
<b>Marlee:</b> I'm going to really miss Steve because he's one of the nicest, most genuine people that I've ever met. He comes into a room and brightens it up. Steve asked me to go with him to the Oscars this year. He asked me as his date. My husband said it was fine. I look forward to seeing him again and maybe doing a film together ... 'Police Academy 25?'
Anna, how do you feel about Jonathan stepping in for an injured <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/derek-hough/527855' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Derek Hough</font></a>?
<b>Anna:</b> I have no problem sharing him -- <i>dancing-wise.</i> I'm not sure if a dancer could replace another one [permanently]. He could step in for a few days of training. I'm sure Derek will be back by Monday. We have had celebrities drop out. Country singer Sara Evans left [in 2006] before the competition was over.
<a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/shannon-elizabeth/240643' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Shannon Elizabeth,</font></a> how did Derek injure his neck?
<b>Shannon:</b> He popped something [during rehearsals] and had to go to the hospital. They did X-rays. It's not skeletal; it's muscular. He can't turn his head to the left. He said he'll choreograph next week's dance, but he may not be able to [perform]. We're going to wait and see how he feels. I just want him better.
<a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/julianne-hough/507219' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Julianne Hough,</font></a> does anyone recognize you in that brunette wig?
<b>Julianne:</b> I'm not recognizing myself! I'm always a blonde. This was just for fun. This is my experimental season. I don't have anything to lose so I've been experimenting with wigs and costumes. I actually think Adam's very charming. People are starting to take a liking to him. I'm listening to his [radio] show more and more. He always says nice stuff about me!
