Monica Seles Elimination: Backstage Report
Monica, what will you take away from this experience?
Monica: I had the most amazing teacher in Jonathan [Roberts]. I came in every day for the last five weeks with a smile on my face and learned a new craft and brought out the 'show girl' in me, which was wonderful.
Jonathan, your wife Anna Trebunskaya left the competition early last season. How do you feel about leaving first now?
Jonathan: [Laughs] At least one of us is employed! I'm so proud of Monica. She transformed so much from a power tennis player to this great dancer and I'm really, really proud of her.
Monica, did you feel support from tennis fans?
Yes. Tennis fans are the most loyal fans. I played my last match five years ago and they still treat me like I just played yesterday. They're amazing. I hope they enjoyed my performances. I know I could have done better, but this isn't my home court. This was totally foreign ground to me.
Carrie Ann and Adam, what will you miss about Monica?
Carrie Ann Inaba: I knew nothing about Monica [before this season of 'Dancing'], but after I saw her video package I realized there was something so sweet about her. I think America fell in love with her.
Monica, will you keep dancing after the show?
I think I'll let the blisters heal first and then decide.
