Synopsis
"China Beach" is set at an evacuation hospital/USO center during the Vietnam War. Nurse Colleen McMurphy is the principal character, pining for her true love, a married doctor, while dealing with the patients and other personnel at the base in the South China Sea.
The series was the first produced by John Wells, who would go on to greater success with "ER" and "The West Wing."
