Description
Mary Beth Lacey and Chris Cagney are NYC police officers, partners and friends. Lacey is married with children, while Cagney leads the life of a single woman. Conceived by Barry Rosenzweig in 1974, it was turned down as a series by all three networks. It aired as a made-for-TV movie on CBS in 1981, drawing a tremendous audience. At the time, the show's concept - women doing a "man's" job - was considered highly controversial.
