Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? Cast & Crew

Description

Hint: No, you're probably not, if you're like most of the adult contestants on this show, who often take on classic "deer in the headlights" expressions as they try to answer questions drawn directly from elementary school textbooks. Five actual fifth-grade "classmates" can help the adult player as he tries to reach the million-dollar jackpot. The grown-up can "cheat" three times: He can Peek, looking at the child's answer and deciding whether he wants to use it; he can Copy, which means he must use the child's answer, whatever it is; or he can use Save, for when he guesses wrong and the classmate has the right answer. Of course, if the pressure gets too much, a contestant can walk away at any point with the money he has won, as long as he looks into the camera and admits, "I am not smarter than a fifth grader." Mark Burnett is executive producer.
