``All in the Family'' is touted as the series that brought reality to prime-time television entertainment. The lead character, Archie Bunker, is a loudmouthed, uneducated, racist and bigoted individual who believes every stereotype he's ever heard. His sweet wife, Edith - who isn't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, their daughter Gloria and her husband Mike all live with him in their lower-middle-class home. Unfortunately for Archie, he can't get away from the people he disdains. The family next door, the Jeffersons, is black. Mike (a.k.a. ``Meathead''), Archie's son-in-law, is an unemployed (a student) Pole. Edith has a feminist cousin in Maude. Later, when he bought the local tavern, he had Jewish business partners.
