History: After their plane crashed on an island, Dr. Jack Shephard allied with strong-willed felon Kate. But she became attracted to con man Sawyer.
Outcome: Kate admitted she loves Sawyer and the two hooked up. Yet, she still seems to have feelings for Jack, judging from the way she hesitated to leave him behind with "The Others."
Who Would You Choose?
Karen / Jim / Pam, 'The Office'
History: Paper salesman Jim pined away for receptionist Pam, who was engaged to warehouse worker Roy. At Casino Night, he finally kissed her.
Outcome: Pam turned Jim down, but she also ended her relationship with Roy. Meanwhile, Jim took a job offer in Stanford and started seeing co-worker Karen. But then the two offices merged, Jim and Karen moved to Scranton and Pam displayed signs of jealousy.
Brenda / Dylan / Kelly, 'Beverly Hills, 90210'
History: New girl Brenda gave her heart and virginity to bad boy Dylan. But while she was in France, he had a summer fling with best friend Kelly.
Outcome: Dylan chose Kelly, with Brenda eventually leaving town. Years (and many relationships) later, Dylan and Kelly got back together in the series finale.
Addison / Derek / Meredith, 'Grey's Anatomy'
History: Surgical intern Meredith Grey had a one-night stand with Derek -- only to discover that he was an attending at the hospital! Their relationship halted when his wife showed up.
Outcome: At first, Derek decided to give it another shot with Addison. But he couldn't get over Meredith, so they reunited.
Pacey / Joey / Dawson, Dawson's Creek
History: Dawson Leery's two best friends, Joey Potter and Pacey Witter, never could stand each other. Then, after Dawson dumped her, the frenemies' caustic banter turned romantic.
Outcome: Pacey and Joey broke up at prom, but eventually got back together in the series finale.
Luke / Lorelai / Christopher, 'Gilmore Girls'
History: Lorelai Gilmore has bounced between Luke, the man who poured her coffee, and Christopher, her high school sweetheart and father of her child.
Outcome: After Luke postponed their wedding, Lorelai broke off their engagement and eloped with Christopher in Paris. But their marriage has been rocky, leaving the door open for Luke.
Aidan / Carrie / Big, 'Sex and the City'
History: Writer Carrie Bradshaw dumped commitment phobic boyfriend Big, only to see him get married. She kept seeing him while dating Aidan.
Outcome: Carrie called off her engagement to Aidan, but Big moved to California. In the series finale, Big finally swept her off her feet in Paris.
Alison / Billy / Amanda, 'Melrose Place'
History: Roommates Alison and Billy had major sexual tension, which only intensified after he slept with neighbor Amanda.
Outcome: Billy and Amanda lasted only a few episodes, but Alison and Billy nearly made it to the altar. Alison left him but they pined for each other for years.
Clark / Lana / Lex, 'Smallville'
History: Pancakes anyone? Lana has flipped between Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, former best friends who are now archenemies.
Outcome: After going back in time to save Lana's life, Clark claimed he didn't love her anymore. Heartbroken, she found solace in the arms of Lex. They're now engaged, but Clark is trying to bust them up.
Johnny / Janet / Tommy, 'Rescue Me'
History: Tommy and Janet split up after their only son was killed in a hit-and-run. When Janet needed a shoulder to cry on, Tommy's brother, Johnny, was all too willing to help.
Outcome: Tommy beat his brother into oblivion after discovering the affair and vengefully romanced Johnny's ex-wife, Sheila. But Johnny -- a cop -- was later killed in the line of duty.
Joey / Rachel / Ross, 'Friends'
History: Ross was in love with Rachel, she reciprocated, then they went on the infamous "break." Later, Joey fell for his roomie.
Outcome: Rachel and Joey tried to hook up, but it was too awkward. When she took a job in Paris, Ross declared his love. She got on the plane, but happily changed her mind.
Lee / Kara / Sam, 'Battlestar Galactica'
History: Ace pilot Kara Thrace couldn't fight her attraction to her superior officer, Lee Adama -- her ex-fiancee's brother. Her self-destructive tendancies led her to reject Lee and marry civilian Sam Anders. In turn, Lee wed Lt. Anastasia Dualla.
Outcome: Kara and Lee couldn't stay away from each other, but ended up staying with their spouses.
Sonny / Brenda / Jax, 'General Hospital'
History: Mobster Sonny Corinthos threw out girlfriend Brenda Barrett for wearing a wire. Later, she found comfort in the arms of dashing playboy Jasper Jax.
Outcome: For years, Brenda bounced between the two men. They both even left her at the altar (different weddings). Eventually, she moved to Europe -- alone.
Bree / Orson / Alma, 'Desperate Housewives'
History: Orson and Alma had a shotgun wedding, but after she suffered miscarriage, Orson found a mistress. After Alma disappeared, Orson married Bree and moved to Wisteria Lane.
Outcome: Alma's not giving up on Orson that quickly. She's back (from "the dead"), has moved down the street and drugged and raped Orson. We're waiting to see if she's pregnant.
Noel / Felicity / Ben, 'Felicity'
History: Felicity followed high school crush Ben to college. There, she met a sensitive RA named Noel.
Outcome: After graduation, Felicity chose Ben. Then, the WB needed five more episodes, so she traveled back in time to pick Noel. But it didn't work out, so she went back to her future with Ben.
Tonya / Dana / Alice, 'The L Word'
History: When pro tennis player Dana Fairbanks came out of the closet, she fell straight into the arms of the celeb-obsessed Tonya. They got engaged, but Dana fell for friend Alice.
Outcome: While preparing for her bachelorette party, Dana cheated on Tonya with Alice, and the two began a secret relationship. But the couple eventually called it quits.
Duncan / Veronica / Logan, 'Veronica Mars'
History: Duncan broke up with Veronica, believing they were siblings. But when the truth came out, she had hooked up with his best friend, Logan.
Outcome: Veronica dumped Logan, who couldn't change his bad-attitude ways. She got back together with Duncan, until he left town for good with his baby. She then reunited with Logan, but their combustible chemistry leaves them on-again, off-again.
Adam / Marjorie / Brian, 'What About Brian'
History: Brian fell hard for Marjorie. The only problem was she was about to marry his best friend, Adam. On their wedding day, Brian ran to the church to convince her to run away with him. She did run away -- by herself.
Outcome: Adam eventually forgave Brian and eloped with stripper Heather. Brian moved on with fellow real estate agent Bridget. Then, Marjorie came back to town, wanting to reunite with Adam. He decided to just be single.
