Back From the Dead: Fans' Choice

After AOL Television's editors named the shows we wish could come back from the dead, asked fans to choose the shows they would revive.

Some of you nominated shows long gone, others selected one-season wonders.

Here are the results ...

'ALF'

"One week there, next week ... gone. Never heard from again or why it left. My kids (now grown) loved this show! Very black, humorous, satirical show that appealed to kids and adults alike." -- Sixmkx

More About 'Bourne'

'Joan of Arcadia'

"How CBS could cancel one of the most thought-provoking shows of all time and replace it with that incredibly mundane, one-plot 'Ghost Whisperer' is tangible proof of the cluelessness of TV execs." -- StevenCar9

More About 'Grindhouse'

'The X-Files'

"No other show has been able to duplicate the complex relationshiop of Mulder and Scully, consistently come up with compelling storylines and at the same time manage to add in a little humor. Add to that the great production values. It was like watching a mini-movie every week. I'd happily watch those two characters watch paint dry." -- CJsSweetie

More About '300'

'Freaks and Geeks'

"I just watched the whole series and felt pretty sad afterwards that the show had ended eight years ago and there was nothing I could do about it." -- Gwin

More About 'Phoenix'

'Dark Angel'

"Fox cancelled that show on a cliffhanger -- and just when it was starting to get interesting!" -- Delphi82

'Arrested Development'

"'Arrested Develoment' probably had the best cast for a comedic show ever. I work at a video rental store and picked up season one and spent the next three weeks finishing the entire show. The Bluths are the funniest family ever. Every character was insane but hilarious. They could easily bring this show back." -- BeEazie75

'Third Watch'

"The show was awesome and how they ended it was poor. One of the best cop shows ever, and underrated. The cast was amazing each week and the writers knew how to supprise you. Would love to see them back again." -- El CRANKS

'Twin Peaks'

"Maybe it ran its arc, but I'd like to see more!" -- Beezus

'American Dreams'

"I cannot believe that 'American Dreams' isn't the top comeback bid of the century?!?! What a great way for today's generations to look back at our parents' generation and experience a great, wholesome family show without the panzyness of '7th Heaven.' -- Holiday087

'Roswell'

"I didn't catch 'Roswell' until after it had been cancelled and Sci Fi began to show it. I really enjoyed it. It had a good mixture of science fiction and teen angst." -- AdmrlLocke

'Magnum, P.I.'

"At least give us a movie. Plot suggestion: Magnum now retired (again) from Naval Intelligence is called on to find out how Robin Masters died ... This could be a two- or three-part miniseries and give 'Magnum P.I.' a fitting end." -- ABERJIM2

'Christy'

"How about a sequel to 'Christy' with Tyne Daly and Kellie Martin? We could all use a little reminder of people living a simpler life and surviving the hard times. Not all car chases and gunfire." -- BAG382

'Reunion'

"I adored this show, and never had closure due to the abrupt way it was cancelled. At the very least, Fox should bring it back so that fans have a conclusion to the murder mystery." -- CityChic16

'Angel'

"I miss 'Angel' most of all. It was such a huge mistake to cancel it when they did." -- Avidrdr23

'Boomtown'

"Each episode was like a magic trick. Even though it revealed exactly the 'facts,' you didn't know the story until the end. The good guys weren't perfect and the bad guys were human. I loved that show and it died too young." -- Sogr8ful95

'Lost in Space'

"I wish that 'Lost In Space' would make it back to TV. We've recovered 'The Addams Family,' 'The Munsters,' 'The Brady Bunch,' 'MASH,' etc. Why haven't Dr. Smith, Will and the Robot returned?" -- MEG992

'Dawson's Creek'

"Where's Pacey when I need him now?" -- Debrx94

'Surface'

"Yeah, cheesy fun, but I really wanted to know what happened to Jackson, where the creatures came from and what happened at the Himalayas expedition." -- Preach

'Beauty and the Beast'

"After 17 years, fans of this show still hold annual conventions. For about 10 years, we believed creator Ron Koslow's promise of a reunion movie. I think everyone's given up on that by now. A shame since we fans were told it was cancelled because it was too expensive for TV. Since its been so long, it could come back as the story of Vincent and Catherine's teenaged son. Although he didn't look much like Dad, surely he grew up to be a crime-fighter, too." -- PLFarrar

'Now and Again'

"Easily one of the most underappreciated shows of the 1999-2000 season, and it left a great cliffhanger unresolved." -- Ben Scripps

'Charmed'

"I would bring 'Charmed' back because it was so fun to watch. Just watching them balance their Wicca lives with their normal, everyday lives was a challenge. This was a show I really enjoyed." -- Ynglv1953l

'St. Elsewhere'

"'St. Elsewhere' was a meaningful, touching, quick-witted, inside-joke funny hospital show, similar to 'ER' but not as medical. The acting was simply awesome. One of my favorite all-time TV characters was the irritating and always-present patient, Mrs. Huffnagel." -- KispokoT

'Xena: Warrior Princess'

"I would dearly dearly love for Xena and Gabrielle to return. Lucy Lawless was great as one of the Cylons in 'Battlestar Galatica,' but she'll always be Xena to me." -- EagIeHart

'Ed'

"I liked 'Love Monkey,' but I really LOVED the bowling alley lawyer!" -- Raysbessie

'Sports Night'

"The show that started the Aaron Sorkin craze. Thank goodness that it will always live on in my DVD collection. It was just smart and funny. The cast was great with Felicity Huffman, Peter Krause, Josh Charles, and Robert Guillaume. It just sad that this show went off the air. 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip' is a lot like this show, and how it looks now, it too will have the same fate." -- SK8GRLPK

'Ryan's Hope'

"Yes, a soap opera. But it was hands down the greatest American soap opera ever. It had too short an existence, only lasting 13 years. I grew up watching it with my mother. 'Ryan's Hope' was completely different from other serials. It was about an extended Irish immigrant family, it took place in New York City, and it wasn't afraid to be "ethnic." It could teach today's soaps a thing or two about authenticity." -- C C

'Ally McBeal'

"Oh, how I miss those nights of laughing so hard at those characters and continuing to grin about it the next day. Bring them back." -- Lreidtx

'Wonderfalls'

"Only four episodes aired before Fox pulled the plug on this smart and funny show. Too bad, because this was one of the most interesting and inventive shows produced since 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' left the airwaves." -- Phlebotnum
