I like Sherri. She's a breath of fresh air. Some of her comments are taken way too seriously. When she said Jesus predated the Greeks, I think she meant that God, who is Jesus, as we Christians believe the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, are One, has always existed, but Whoopi and Joy thought she meant Jesus, in human form, when He was on earth.Sherri is human like the rest of us and prone, as are we all, to lapses of the tongue!Hang in there Sherri!

I, was always told think before you speak or do your homework on many subjects. No disrespect to sherri she needs to read more books in regards to history, and if you don't know somethings about the subject that being address don't talk and make yourself look bad on televison.

Jesus is God(The Son) He has always existed..yes,before He was born in the manger on earth..God is one God but has three roles, that work together as one..God ,The Father..God ,The Son and God ,the Holy Spirit..to understand fully about God ,one has to be a BORN AGAIN believer..when we accept Christ as the Messiah, God ,The Holy Spirit will teach us about the character of God !!He will open our understanding ..Humans cannot understand nor accept the truth of the Holy Scriptures in their own strenght, without first accepting the Salvation that is provided through the acceptance of Jesus as God,the Son......believing the virgin birth..the death on the cross(His blood sacrifice that cleanses us) and most of all the resurrection of Jesus are all part of that acceptance of Who He is...the first step is to want to know Christ seriously and then be willing to deny self to follow Him....none of us are deserving of God's love/grace/mercy....

Okay now I don't watch the view but I am a BIG Whoopi fan so I try to catch a glimpse now and then and boy oh boy. It is certainly no because she is black but Sherri has got to learn a thing or two. I am an educator and I would never be so foolish as to not know my stuff before I make a presentation. She is on national television, you think she would have done her homework and brushed up on whatever it is they were speaking about before she spoke. Because she sounded like an idiot. There would be no BC if nothing existed before Jesus. That is just plain dumb.

"Hmmmm....so it's okay for Rosie to make all of her oddball statements, but when a strong black woman makes one then she's suddenly an idiot?"
Hmmmm...if a semi-literate moron like Sherri Shepherd is your idea of a 'strong black woman,' you've got bigger problems than you're aware of.

She is obviously not in a position to discuss much of anything, she is a dinghy lady. I think she is on the View for people to make fun of, comic relief or something. Christians are not perfect just forgiven, remember that.

You don't have to go to the frickin' library to know that the earth isn't flat!!

I am hoping that Sherri was flustered and lost track of what she was talking about, as it was with the "Is the world flat?" situation, but even if she really thought thought that Christians came before Greeks, I don't care, I still love her. I am SO glad they brought her on The View; she most definitely is the funniest and most down-to-earth of all the hosts. She is warm, kind, and wholehearted. Go Sherri!

Lisa Ling was cool. There have been some great guest hosts -- Then along came that nut-job Elizabeth. Yikes. I stopped watching for awhile. When Rosie came on I started watching again. Rosie is at least well-informed, educated, and does her research before she shoots her mouth off -- though I did not appreciate her pushing a personal agenda. When Sheri came on at first, I thought awright -- she's hah-larious !! Sadly, the ignorance speaks VOLUMES about generations x, y, and z . . . and how they represent America Today. At least Whoopi's in there now. How 'bout another Asian or Hispanic?

Okay, Jameswpope, you win.
Now, could you please forward your info to Ms. Shepherd?
jameswpope 10:28:43 PM Dec 06 2007
Actually EGChristie, your reasoning assumes a lot of facts not supported by the evidence. First, you assume that Christ was born on 0 AD, and died 33 1/3 years after that. That view is not supported by a variety of Biblical and non-biblical sources. Christ was born closer to 30 BC. This is proven by the Biblical account and Roman historians of the day. The census mentioned in Luke and other accounts of the nativity clearly indicate that it was done during the life of Caesar Augustus and during the reign of the Syrian governor Quirinius. This gives a very finite window for Christ's birth. Caesar Augustus took power circa 31BC and died circa 14 AD. I can't image the Biblical writers and Roman historians screwing things up THAT badly. For your account to be accurate, Augustus would have had to call for a census halfway through his reign, something that no self-respecting Caesar would have done if whe wanted to get a good tax-based established, which is the purpose for Roman census.
