NEW YORK (March 28) - Piers Morgan is hired. The former British tabloid editor was crowned the winner on NBC's "The Celebrity Apprentice," triumphing over Trace Adkins.

The final task on Thursday's finale was to hold a charity event. Adkins was in charge of taking care of the talent, The Backstreet Boys, who demanded wheatgrass juice backstage. Morgan was responsible for the auction and food.

Adkins sold more tickets, but Morgan - who has been a judge on NBC's "America's Got Talent" -- raised the most money: $250,000.

"Apprentice" host Donald Trump said Morgan "did an amazing job" and showed up his celebrity competitors (who included Gene Simmons and "Apprentice" villain Omarosa).

Trump called Adkins, whose single "You're Gonna Miss This" has climbed the country charts, a "special human being. A beautiful guy."

Morgan's charity is the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which provides help for families of U.S. military personnel who died in the line of duty. Morgan's brother has served two tours of duty in Iraq, and his brother-in-law has served two tours of duty in Afghanistan.

Way to go Piers.

Some time ago, Forbes rated the top 500 CEO's of the largest companies in the USA. They were rated on the input from employees as to whom they would most like to work for and whether they considered their present boss to be the "best." Of the 500 companies, Donald Trump came in dead last. Leona Helmsley was still around at the time so maybe she just wasn't in the group. However, it seemed that nobody was happy working for "The Donald." Says a lot about what kind of boss he is.

Rosie O'Donnell was incorrect in saything that "The Donald" had gone bankrupt. It was his casino company that went bankrupt and at the time "The Donald" said, and I quote, "It is a good thing." To "The Donald," everything is amazing and he probably felt that going bankrupt was truly amazing, especially for the stockholders.

Today, as his casino companies bleed money, he still aportions $2 mil for himself plus all the profit on the Trump stuff that he sells to his own casino's. A little double dipping

Donald Trump has my admiration. He chose the right person to be the celebrity apprentice. Yes, Piers had a lot of big money contacts but he personally worked extremely hard in every challenge in order to win. He was brutely honest in his comments and never backed off of anyone, not even Trump. Piers's big money supporters also won and I am glad. They donated a lot of money for the charity events that would not have been given if Piers had not been in the competition. Thanks to all the donors no matter what the amount. Underneath all Piers's toughness is a man with a heart as big as the sky. I saw that when he was talking to the wounded military personnel. Yes, I love Trace Adkins too and he was also a winner. All of the participating celebrities are winners and deserve a big Thanks for giving their time to raise money for their charities. Way to go all. One other comment. Donald, I know you are proud of your children. You raised them well. They are intellegient and have a lot of compas

PIERS DESERVED TO WIN---IF IT WAS A NICE GUY CONTEST THEN TRACE SHOULD HAVE WON BUT IN THE END BUSINESS IS BUSINESS---WOULD TRUMP BE WHERE HE IS TODAY IF HE WAS A NICE GUY!!!!

Trace should have won, but the aspect of the show according to Trump was to bring in the most money. So thats why Trace lost, but in my eyes and my famlies he actually was the winner.

Piers is an ass! Let tne British name him their Apprentass as he doesn't hold a candle to the Traces of the world!! Being kind, gentle and thoughtful gets you nowhere, unless you are mean and arrogant you LOSE

Bravo Piers!

mocountrygirl07 06:13:43 PM Mar 28 2008

Trace should have won. He brought more class to that show than it even deserved. Just keep in mind if your kid had the problems that Trace's charity fights for they may not even grow up to fight to even need Piers charity. Take care of the kids first. They are our future. Trace has more class in his little toe than Piers has in his whole body. Besides a good business man can make his employees work for him with pride and not have to be bullied and talked to like dogs with the same result. Trace showed that easily. Trace all the way. Trump rethink your business basics.

That was by far the best apprentice EVER!!
Piers ...You so impressed me!! Every comment you made was so"right on...""
I loved when you put back with your comments Steven in his seat!!
You could have said that "' you do not have to be religious to have a good morale and do great things for others''!! It would have pleased me even more!

Congrats Morgan! I was impressed with his ability to compete in such a manner that Americans think is crude and unfair but I didn't feel that way. The English are different culturally in many ways and as Americans we need to respect that. It really wasn't "Americans vs. English". It was the best Apprentice Season. I loved every episode. It shows us, as Americans have low tolerance for different approaches to competition. Morgan competed to the best of his ability and won! Donald Trump you are a genius in producing a season with such excitement and competition. This season, I actually could relate to the competitors because I knew them. It was all for a good cause..............

Trace was a class act througout the series and worked tremendously hard to win.....but, Piers was excellent and raising money and managing events. Also, I think Piers donating to the Intrepid Charity on behalf of our American Soldiers was very extremely touching. The fact Piers had to put up with Omorosa's disgusting behavior and her below class attacks against him as a parent.....is proof....he didn't fall down and managed to overcome. I adore Trace, though......I think this show has given him plenty of exposure to his Food Allergy Charity for his daughter. Good Show, Donald!! Look forward to Celeb Apprentice 2!!

Trace Adkins should have won. Yes Piers raised more money, but seriously, would you want to hire Piers - he is a back stabbing, name dropping , mean spirited guy. I mean look, he told the wait staff to put out little food and give out lots of drinks so they could get everyone drunk so they would donate more money!!!! This guy is a "Role Model"???? Trace did his thing in a low key, gentlemanly way and with a lot of heart. We need more people in the business world like him - there are way too many Piers Morgan's out there already! Piers Morgan and others like him are what is wrong with this country today. GO TRACE. We love you.

Piers DESERVED to win !! He did a fantastic job, and even though at times he is a little arrogant, nobody did a better job,

worthville5 03:39:04 PM Mar 28 2008

I had hoped that the best man would have won, but he didn't. Yes, Pierce had the rolodex and the big spenders. Trace has class and dignity. Trace, you rock

jjackets10 03:31:07 PM Mar 28 2008

Trace was the good guy who you'd want to win but throughout the season Piers was the star. My heart routed for Trace but any good businessman would hire Piers.
Good job Mr. Trump!
