O'Donnell Eyes Talk Show on MSNBC

NEW YORK (Nov. 6) - Rosie O'Donnell, who famously clashed with a co-host on "The View," is close to being her own boss again.

The acid-tongued talk-show host whose dispute with Elizabeth Hasselbeck hastened her departure from ABC's daytime gabfest is reportedly in negotiations to host a prime-time talk show on MSNBC five days a week.

Rosie O'Donnell has never been one to hold back. With her new book, 'Celebrity Detox: The Fame Game,' the former "queen of nice" is expected to open up wounds from past feuds. Here are some past quotable highlights:

An NBC executive familiar with the discussions confirmed the two sides had talked, but cautioned that "we're far from a done deal." The executive spoke on condition of anonymity because the negotiations were ongoing.

The cable news channel owned by NBC Universal would not officially comment on the discussions. A spokesman for O'Donnell could not be reached for comment.

The reports, which first surfaced in the New York Times, suggested O'Donnell would take over the 9 p.m. slot currently occupied by "Live with Dan Abrams." That would put her show in competition with CNN's "Larry King Live" and Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes."

Fox News dominates prime-time ratings for cable news channels, averaging 1.5 million viewers this year, according to Nielsen data. MSNBC is a distant third with 505,000, behind CNN's 755,000.

O'Donnell hosted her own daytime talk show from 1996 to 2002. She also produced a Broadway musical and founded a short-lived, namesake magazine before her tempestuous run on "The View." Although she was there for less than a year before leaving in May, her boisterous, opinionated style was credited with boosting the show's ratings.

Shortly before joining the multi-host show created by Barbara Walters, O'Donnell had blogged that "it will be hard 4 me 2 not b the boss." Now she's set to reclaim center stage as her own.

Rosie will not last because she never does. Everytime she doesn't get her way she bring out her poor me act. According to Rosie everyone is against her since she is overweight, bigmouth, and lets not forget her favorite one I'm gay so that has to be the reason everone picks on me. She forgets that if you open your mouth to bully someone that the tables can all ways turn the other direction. Rosie can not stand it when the table turns. Rosie lose because she is her own worst emeny. Rosie usually distories herself because she has never learn to pick her battles, she thinks every thing is her battle,

I met Rosie once, I was at Disney World in the Nickelodeon section of the park. I was about 15 or 16 at the time. She still had her talk show, well anyway.. I went up to her and asked her for her autograph. She told me to F*** off, along with a few other kids (younger than me). I thought it was very cruel. She forgets why she was famous... the FANS. I have no respect for this woman since that day. She is a mean, vile, nasty b**** and well....thats about it.

.........Rosie used to be so family friendly...her daytime t.v. show made her truly famous...........now, she's one big militant gay lady who just loves to spew her caustic views on life..........she doesn't even get her facts right. Rosie.........I don't care if you're gay......you used to be so lovable............when did you snap????????
