Nixon Bashes Breast Surgery Report

(June 23) -- Last week, a New York Post gossip item hinted that 'Sex and the City' starlet Cynthia Nixon had breast enhancement surgery done after seeing herself topless in the hit movie. Unfortunately, that's not the case, and Nixon herself is hitting back.

"I was at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital for my 'three-monthly' checkup," breast cancer survivor Nixon tells the Daily News. "I was in the Oncology Department. I guess they think that means 'plastic surgery,'" she said, referencing the Post report.

"We got a call from [the Post] asking if I'd had breast augmentation, and my publicist laughed at them and said, 'No, of course not.' But they printed it anyway. If I was going to get a boob job, wouldn't it make sense that I'd get it before 'Sex and the City'?" Nixon asked.

If those retorts weren't clear enough, Nixon laid it out plain and clear: "The story was totally false. It would be annoying and disheartening in any case, but particularly because I've been so open about my breast cancer."

That's the irritating part about being a celebrity.... no matter what you do, where you go, what you eat or drink or wear some skank in the papparazi is going to make it front page drama. Celebs have to develop a hard shell to it, but it doesn't mean that the comments don't sting. As a woman I can feel for Nixon, but her career was her choice and she should just let it go.

Ms. Nixon is an extremely talented actress and has always demonstrated integrity (something lacking among most of her peers). Why would would she possibly lie about this subject? If anything she should be celebrated as a role model.

There are more important things in the world to be worrying about anyway.

Why is she getting all hot about it? Many women choose reconstructive surgery (it's wrong to call it "implants" like it's a non-cancer patient choosing enhancement). Just laugh it off, Cynthia, what does it matter?

I am a breast cancer survivor. I am bald and flat-chested at the moment. Once chemo is done I plan to have reconstruction. It is a personal choice. Our main focus is surviving this disease and moving on with our lives. Reconstruction is painful, trust me. Read up on it. As for Ms Nixon...Bravo on all you do for the Komen Foundation and its Relay For Life.

I had to have one implant put in due to breast cancer.it was that are a tramflap,which i said no because it sounded and look horrible to go through.A tramflap is where they cut your stomach all up to build a new breast,no way was i going through that.sorry to use the term cut up..but i call it as i see it.

GOOD LUCK TO CYNTHIA. I LOVED HER IN SEX AND THE CITY. " THE BRIDGE OF FORGIVENESS" BETWEEN HER CHARACTER AND THAT OF STEVE WAS THE PART IN THE MOVIE THAT MADE ME CRY. VERY EMOTIONAL AND SWEET.
