I loved Lionel's music.. having a step-daughter is hard when he wasn't a Saint himself...but I remember Nicole's mom beat him and his girlfriend up when she caught him....way to go Lionel (NOT)...I wonder if he took any blame for Nicole's actions...He raised her, and made her home less than perfect....."You live what you learn ! Her mom is the one to feel sorry for....and "Nicole".....

since I'm on a roll let me add one more thing before I split. I have believed all my life that how people perceive this depends on the condition of their spiritual heart. Thank God that somehow, some way I was taught, I have had a multitude of instances where someone said something, it went right over my head, someone else even might say, "HEY, DID YOU HEAR WHAT THEY SAID TO YOU, AREN'T YOU GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?" and it just didn't compute to me the same way. The bible says that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh and I've always followed up with, and the feet walketh, the eyes looketh, the hands toucheth, in other words the condition of your heart dictates what you say, do and how you perceive things.

I don't think he meant it in a demeaning or condescending way. He made a joke about how difficult it is raising a child, the same thing any parent does at their child's bar/bat mitzvah, graduation, wedding, or any other milestone occasion. Everyone knows that it's trying and make light of it because it's in the past. It's not like he said she ruined his life.
