Jorja Fox Quitting Role on CBS Hit 'CSI'

NEW YORK (Oct. 16) - Jorja Fox is waving goodbye to "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."

Fox, 39, tells EW.com she has quit the Las Vegas-based forensics drama, saying she wants to explore other opportunities.

Jorja Fox's character, Sara Sidle, has appeared in all but two episodes of the hit series.

"There are all these things I want to do," she said in a story posted Monday on the Web site. "Some are personal. Some are professional. And I really need to do some of them before I get too old."

Fox has wrapped up filming on the hit CBS series, and will make her last appearance as Sara Sidle in an episode to air next month, according to the Web site.

CBS publicist Kate Fisher had no comment Tuesday.

Fox's run on "CSI" nearly ended in 2004 when she and co-star George Eads were fired during tense contract negotiations. They were later hired back.

"If I thought the show were on its last legs, I would have tried harder to stay the course," said Fox, whose contract expired in May. "But I feel like it's going to be around for a while, so if I don't want some of those dreams to pass me by, I have to get off the ride for a while."

Fox has been a cast member since "CSI" premiered in 2000.

good luck miss fox hope you find what you are looking for. I am a dedicated fan of csi and have been interested in forensics and law for a long time. I hope the networks leave the door open for sara sidle to return in a different capacity. Us fans like being involved with the characters knowledge, lives, thats what makes this show great. all of the cast members give their all to act with dignity and compassion. I would like to see more difficult cases that are very tough to solve with deeper plots. Networks may want to bring back sam braun and his other business partners constantly being involved in the crimes create more mysteries. good luck.

How can anyone think Sara and grissom are made for each other? They have
nothing in common. Grissom is much more intelligent than she and her "sing song"
way of talking. It drives me crazy. Good luck, Sara. Glad you're gone.

I hate to see Sara go. the show needs some romance. Grissom needed
her. I'm not sure if I will like the show now. I did not like the show that aired tonight 11/22/07. Any more shows kile that and I won't watch the show anymore.

Good luck in whatever you do Jorja ! I will miss you on the show. I do hope that you will come back and be Gil's wife and help him at home or some other way, just so you can be on the show to make it as good as it was when you were on all the time.
I have loved your character from the begining, being bold and smart when it really counts. The team won't be the same without you !!!

Please Bring Sara back I have watched all the CSI since it first came out on 13 at 9pm I even watch the spike shows they are reruns but they are good I love that Grissom and Sara finally hit it they make a cute couple. Everyone Warrick, Katherine, Brass, Nicky,Gregg they made the team without oneof them it wouldnt be the same I know life is short but allow Fox to work still with the team put her on leave for the 10 weeks or so that she stated she had for vac on the show because we all love her and the team and it just wont be the same without the whole crew together Follow your dreams Miss Fox but we love you and want to see back soon by the way the thursday that you left made me cry with your letter to gris so please allow us to have more touching stories like this one with you in it someday soon.

I really don't want to see Sara leaving one of my favorite shows. Now that her and Crisom are getting close it kinda isn't fair to us dedicated viewers! I really can't imagine Crisom not going after her later in the shows and having her return. It would be a scene to watch. Wish she wasn't going!

sara con go on a trip but you cant write her out gil is in love with her and now he knows she is in love with him.if grissom cant do his job because he is worried about her he is going to want to go look for her and if he goes you wont have a show.
