LOS ANGELES (Jan. 23) - Sci Fi Channel has snapped up cable rerun rights to the post-apocalyptic drama "Jericho" from CBS Television Distribution.

The three-year agreement gives Sci Fi rights to the first and second seasons of the series, which includes an exclusive first run in basic cable for the first six months of the deal.

"Jericho" is set to make its Sci Fi debut with a four-episode marathon Feb. 11, the day before the show's second-season premiere on CBS. "Jericho," which will be simulcast in high definition on Sci Fi HD, will begin airing in its regular Sci Fi time slot of 10 p.m. Mondays on Feb. 18.

"Jericho" stars Skeet Ulrich and revolves around the survivors of a nuclear attack in a Kansas town. It debuted in September 2006 to promising ratings but struggled upon its return to the schedule after a three-month hiatus when it had to face Fox's "American Idol."

After CBS canceled the series, viewers launched a campaign to save it, including sending tens of thousands of pounds of nuts to top network executives, who decided to give the show a reprieve with a seven-episode second-season order.

Thomas Vitale, senior vice president programming and original movies at Sci Fi, called "Jericho" a "gripping science fiction series."

"Thanks to the passion and persistence of its loyal viewers who saved this program from being canceled, new viewers can now experience this show for the first time on the Sci Fi Channel while CBS continues the story in its second-season run," he said.

Sci Fi and CBS declined comment on the financial terms of the deal.

This could really happen that is the ONLY reason it was pulled. The Governement wants us not to look at the truth. We hold them accounable then they will need to WORK! Truth is secrets are sold to everyone- we are stupid

Jericho shows what the future will be like if we elect Hillary. Seriously, this show is awesome. There are so many sub plots and ideas to be played out. The should should easily last 5 seasons or more. It teaches us how to survive a crisis of such immense proportions.

The nuclear attack looks like it is going to be real from Russia if we elect a democrat for president.
Then the survivors will all be disformed mutated monsters that will be cannibles eating everyone for dinner.
What survivors remain that are in the goverment nuclear shelters ,once they get out they will have contaminated themselve and breed mutated monsters that will eat them.

My family loves Jerico and will continue to watch it where ever it is aired.

The problem is that sci fi needs to get the rights to the show to continue the series. After the seven for the second season, it's done. Sci fi is just showing the reruns. It's great, but I can only watch a rerun so many times. Love the show. I wasn't so sure about the fallout being gone after one rain, though. I think that the conditions in the series are actually better than what they would be if this truly happened.

Jericho Rocks! One of the best shows I've seen in years! Lots of people I know watch it. The premise of the show can happen in real life! Hopefully it will stay on the air this time. There's alot of garbage out there that isn't fit to watch..even the laugh tracks on shows don't make you laugh anymore. Jericho has a great story and there could be things learned in the event this does happen to our country in the near future! Good Job!! Someone made a good decision taking Jericho on!

bev1725 06:17:51 PM Jan 23 2008

Just wanted to say I really enjoy the show too.

And we're glad to have it back. If I'd known about the nut campaign when it was active - I'd have donated too!

whitey5442 05:08:55 PM Jan 23 2008

coollllll

candyecain 05:04:42 PM Jan 23 2008

thank god it's back. it is a show that really makes you think about what could happen in the future. we finally have an entertaining show and not something with a bunch of idiots. they should ban all reality shows.
