WHY IS IT THAT SO MANY OF THE IDOL CONTESTANTS WIND UP ON BROADWAY??? ONLY VERY FEW MAKE IT BIG IN THE MUSIC BIZ LIKE CARRIE, DAUGHTRY AND KELLY. MAYBE THEY SHOULD SWITCH THE NAME TO "BROADWAY IDOL"

american idol is a joke.true talent is not being cute or how popular you are.what happened to truley talentlyed people ,.judges are there to judgethem not to say how good they look.wake up before you lose to many fans.

The only reason the ratings have slipped is because the previous year
was the worst ever..this year was much better.
The judges and Seacrest are terrific and carry the show fine..

This show starts out in the right direction but always sways when personal stories or tragedy comes into the picture...ie: David Cooks brother!!! Ever since the night they flashed him in the audience, the judges have since then, Filled the nights of nothing but praise and glory even if it isn't warranted. He comes out with AC on his jacket, AC on his guitar, and so on! Who, at this point, is going to have the guts to give any criticism that is nothing but "Oh it was great, I'm looking at the next idol, you win the night...GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so sick of using personal stories to sway their votes with sympathy tactics!!! It's a very convenient way to push people in that direction, so, "NOW WE HAVE SYMPATHY VOTING" which is what's happening and how this is now being judged. I am sorry for the families pain, but I feel any personal stories or tragedies should come out, BUT AFTER THE SHOW IS OVER AND DONE WITH so nothing

Producers need to pay ATTENTION. America is growing tired of show if reported numbers are accurate. The fatal flaws are so obvious, even Simon mentioned them this season - it has become as much a popularity show rather than singing. Its purpose was originally to discover NEW AMERICAN TALENT. The multiple voting system stinks and sways toward teeny boppers.

I think I will beg off next year after watching every season devotedly.

IDOL should react to talent ONLY,, not on apparel or looks, or how sexy performers appear and the whiney stuff after the judges remark should just be gone. I love the show but it is getting stale, format needs to be revamped and the judges need to just do that judge,, and you know SIMON does get the bad rap, he does his job, he says it as he sees it, no sugar coating and he is usually on the money, AND RANDY is genuise in his field HE does it all, NOW PAULA is from MARS....

American Idol needs a face-lift. The judges should have a vote that acts as a percentage. Just like several other popular entertainment competitions. Dancing with star's judges use a 1-10 rating. Those totals are percentage calculated into the popular vote. It would be fun to see the judges lift a paddle with a number on it. The number of times a person can vote needs to be limited. This block voting gets the good people voted off. Remember the girls from Hawaii? They should have gone way before they did. It was obvious the state was block voting. Chris Daughtry should never have gone when he did. With the judges voting and limited viewer voting, he never would have. Jennifer Hudson is another example. This season we watched Michael go, Jason stay. What was that, if not popularity instead of ability? There should be a guest judge that actually states their opinion. Not another Paula and "Gee you look good tonight." I'd like anything goes with their music selection. Let the contestants

that is so true half of the people on american idol don't know how to sing but david cook and david archuleta its going to be a close competion for the season!!!!!

Its slipped because the performers can't sing. Also, those that can sing, never make it. The last true artist to make the top two was Clay Aiken and he should have won season two, and no I am not a claymate, but I do know talent being in the music industry for over thirty years.
