'Idol' Slide Deepens After Mix-Up

Well. As much as paula made have made a bloper, i dont think thats why ratings fall. Its the same every year. How many different years are you going to crown the "best talent in america" especially when they keep noting early on that some people trying out where rejects from previous seasons.

Paula is legitimately retarded. Either she is really drunk, or she genuinely lacks a filter on her mouth. I believe she means well, and maybe she goes home and really wonders why she word vomitted. Its either that or shes getting paid to be a little off.

Judges are jerks. Contestants are treated poor and I refuse to ever watch this show again.

I love American Idol it a great show quit being such babies and just sit back and enjoy a good show even though some of your favorites leave they always end up on the good end of the stick and making good money so yes American Idol does do a good job if it were not for them half of these contestant would be out of luck.

ratings are slipping because the judges, espically randy!!! this year had already decided what they think america wants.. david a is a good singer but her is not in the same league as david cook. cook is fantastic and has pop and rock appeal.

Someone, and I elect Simon (if he can tear himself away from her long enough), should tell Paula she is voted off.
She's either wasted or crazy. She makes no sense and she behaves as if she is intoxicated all the time.

Ratings drop is simple to explain: No outstanding talent this season,regardless of what the network says. I wouldn't buy a CD by any of the current finalists. Definitely no Carrie Underwood in this group of wannabe's.

Why are you trying to blame Paula Abdul for the shows ratings. Her mistake was totally understandable. They were giving their comments in a different way and she just got confused with it. The show lost it's lustre when Michael Johns was booted. I can honestly say that this year has got to be the worst. I didnt even watch all of tonights. Just too boring. I lost interest as soon as Michael left, but continued watching it because I was rooting for Michael and Brooke from the beginning, and when she left last week, that was it for me. It's duller than ever now.

the night Michael Johns was kicked off made the show look like a complete joke....ratings slipped from then on...next year they need to change the ratings to half judges half fan voting....with Daughtry out selling the winner of idol by millions is making the show look even more cheesy!

all the pretty girls are gone, and the sisses are still there, what a joke on the american public, text votes makes att and Idol, millions, i watched it, last week to see neil diamond, man still has it, to bad there is no more katharine mcphee's around, now that was worth watching!

this kid can barely croak out a tune.
wake up teenie-boppers and stop voting for what a contestant looks like.
it,s a talent competition, not a popularity show.if he survives this week, i,m done with american idol1!!!!

Good grief, people. This, like most shows on the tube, is for entertainment. The judges know by this time their comments carry no weight, so why do we care what they say? Simon is the show. Ryan does a great job. The voters are the only unknown and by this time, we pretty much know who and why they vote for those like Jason Castro. Same thing happened last year. And, given how bad his recent performances have been, how did he ever get to the final 24? The judges put them there, so they must have felt that any of these finalists were good enough to win.

Simon's security blanket (putting his arm on the back of Paula's chair) is distracting. Maybe the two should be separated or get him a blanket. His comments are usually correct, but should not be caustic. Paula actions are indicative of a chemical imbalance. Randy's speech sounds like a young man trying to be "cool". Certainly not a role model for Americans. He is the best judge.

Ryan Seacrest should go. He is talentless and is the master of all that is irritating.
Randy, it is 2008, no one uses the slang "dawg" anymore. Catch up already.
Paula, maybe you should take a nap before the show starts.
Simon ROCKS. He is the only one with honest and constructive crtics.
Change the voting. Judges vote worth 50% one vote per person. This is suppose to be a talent show not a popularity contest.
