(July 2) - If new reports are to be believed, 'Friends' will be coming soon to a theater near you.

According to Britain's Daily Mail, the six co-stars are ready to take their popular show to the big screen.

What has prompted this development? The worldwide success of 'Sex and the City,' which has taken in over $300 million at the box office, convinced Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer to reprise the roles that made them rich and famous.

"The box office success of 'Sex and The City' has really got their wheels spinning about how a 'Friends' film could be just as big, if done right," a source says.

"Timing and the script are really important, but now that Courteney and Jen both have production companies, they can potentially get very involved in those decisions," the source adds.

Aniston was rumored to be the hold out among the cast members since the show ended in 2004 and reports of a reunion movie surfaced, but now she's ready to step back into character as Rachel Green.

"'What's held back a Friends movie so far is that people were worried that Jennifer had simply become too famous to play Rachel again," the insider claims.

"'But the truth is that Jennifer is finally willing to do it, and she'd love to work with that whole team of actors and producers again."

Original? OMG! Nothing has been original since the 50's when it comes to plots for movies or TV.Matt Leblanc and Matthew Perry got old and fat. Jennifer Aniston does loser movies. Courtney Cox has some kind of side business, thankfully. Kudwow has done nothing of note and yet she is the one who was the funniest. Schwimmer needs to come out of the closet! At first Friends was funny but then the plots became trite and banal and in the end, the show stunk the last few years.Hopefully they all saved their money.

it was not a great show but it was ok, kind of dull most of the time and stupid

I don't know...okay, I was never a huge fan of "Friends" although I didn't hate the show either, so maybe that's where I don't see the appeal. Then again, I didn't expect the "Sex and the City" film to do nearly as well as it did, I figured it would only appeal to fans. (I haven't seen it, nor do I care to but obviously it's done well based on theatre receipts). But I guess I just see this as not quite working well...what fits well in a 30 minute format might not work in the 90 or so minutes of a film. Look at how many SNL sketches (albeit they are closer to 5 to 10 minutes) that were made into films..and how most of them didn't work as films for instance. Having said all of that, "My Mother the Car" would make a wonderful full length film. :D

They just want money. The only one that's successful right now is Courtney Cox. Aniston is just a paparazzi ***** and the rest of them are duds. Hollywood really needs to get it together and stop rehashing old shows, turning old successful shows into movies, and stop importing shows from England, Japan, and other countries. Go back to being original.

there WAS a reason they ended the show!!!you just cant keep going on like that.everyone grows up.I hate, that Hollywood cant come up with something new.they have to dredge up used hackneyed tired old ideas that ran out there run.OF THE FRIENDS cast.the women of the group were the best.and of them, Jen was the best actor of the lot

It could be a good movie, to see where they are now. They would have to get the best writers tho, the writers on the sitcom were too good. There are other shows that I would love to see a movie or even a reunion show updated. Cosby would be incredible, showing where each of the kids are now (has anyone seen lil Rudy??, now thats a babe and a half) or Seinfield, minus Kramer (he could have been killed when they went to jail by a black gang, fitting). How about a Different World, what happened to Whitley and Dwayne?? The Nanny too, did Fran and Maxwell stay together???

If that god awful show "Sex in the City" can make money then a great show like "Friends" is a shoo-in to do it. Please get it done!!!!!!!!

Loved friends. All the characters were unique in their own way. A movie would be great to see where they could expand the life of the characters.
