David Cook had the total package to be our new American Idol. David A had no crowd appeal, he had no social skills, and was the same old same old week after week. He will do well in his future, but he does need a real manager before his fahter ruins his chances of something greater.
My biggest thought from last night was how great/wonderful Syesha was, singing with Seal and then Donna Summers, what a thrill of a lifttime, she IS living her dream and will go very far in her career as a singer, and broadway stardom. Go Syesha, and Congrats to David Cook, jobs well done!

He's lucky he got this far. He's a very young seventeen. He's hasn't found himself yet. He definietly has a "BIG MUSICAL DESTINY" he's just not the American Idol. David Cook was consistant everyweek, you believed him.. Overall, the show is just that. SHOW.
Props to David Cook.

btw..don't disagree at all with his father butting out of his career, but I don't believe that cost him the competition. He was outsung and outclassed by a superior performer and the voting public recognized it. I found David A just too boring...his coming in on one 'part' of the song Apologize (while not even trying for the high notes); and then doing only one very short verse of "Imagine' were both cop-outs. Let him sing the entire songs before we'll know whether he can actually sing without putting us to sleep. He's a nice kid and his popularity kept him in this long.

Sorry, don't buy it. The 'golden chlid' attitude so many people had really turned me off. I liked David A well enough, but never quite heard the 'fabulous vocals' everyone else seemed to think he had. He forgot so many of his lyrics (yet got passes the other contestants didn't), because of his youth? From the beginning David Cook had exceptional vocals, even though he wasn't my first choice. Once Michael Johns was eliminated David Cook easily became my favorite by virtue of his beautiful voice and that's ALL that mattered..his version of "Music of the Night" was the best performance of the competition (outside of Jason Castro's "Hallelujah").

David A. has his dad to thank for his loss. David A. was the golden child of AI but after that thing with changing the words to that song, it was down hill last. David A. will make it but maybe his dad needs to shut up and get a real manager for the good of his son!
