LOS ANGELES (May 12) - Actor Dennis Farina apologized for his arrest at Los Angeles International Airport after a loaded gun was found in his carry-on luggage.

"I apologize to anyone and everyone that I have caused any embarrassment or inconvenience to," the 64-year-old actor said in a statement. "It is my own stupidity to find myself in this embarrassing situation."

When the weapon was discovered at a security checkpoint at about 8 a.m. Sunday, police said Farina told them he had forgotten the .22-caliber handgun was in his luggage.

Farina was booked for investigation of carrying a concealed weapon, said Sgt. Dennis Beacham. When police discovered the weapon was not registered, the charge was upgraded to a felony and Farina's bail was increased from $25,000 to $35,000.

He was released Sunday night after posting bail, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Web site.

Farina's latest film, the Ashton Kutcher-Cameron Diaz comedy "What Happens in Vegas," opened Friday.

tanirocker the liberal fool

Read the Federalist Papers they clarify that the second amendment was written with the right of individuals in mind to own guns. The right of the "people" to keep and bear arms. The whole point of the Second Amendment was to ensure that American's maintain the means to fend off a tyrannical government, which is what we are going to get if Obama is elected. Protect your rights and your property from the Democrat Communists.

Right after the people of Poland gave up their arms, the Nazi's walked inwithout resistance. Why should we trust that our government has our best interest at heart. Our government is now changing and not for the best. example-no border protection, North American Union, debasing the currency, allowing military and business secrets to leave the country, no draft so that our reserve military has to do everything two to four times, and not assisting young men and women get trained and learn the disapline they do not get at home. The tail is starting to wag the dog and we are not too far away from some sort of revolt due to mis management of the government. Its discusting when the bad things are no good and the bad things are now good. Nice going Hollywood!

"One of the ordinary modes, by which tyrants accomplish their purposes without resistance, is, by disarming the people, and making it an offense to keep arms."
- Constitutional scholar and Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story, 1840

"Both the oligarch and Tyrant mistrust the people, and therefore deprive them of arms."

"The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference. They deserve a place of honor with all that is good. When firearms go, all goes. We need them every hour."
- George Washington in address to the 2nd session of united States Congress

"False is the idea of utility that sacrifices a thousand real advantages for one imaginary or trifling inconvenience; that would take fire from men because it burns, and water because one may drown in it; that has no remedy for evils except destruction. The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crime."
- Cesare Beccaria, quoted by Thomas Jefferson

There won't be any freedoms soon. Who is a yahoo when you gang stalk in Philadelphia and give them the boot. Its a blood lust all around. Eventually the NWO police forces will be the enemy of freedom, and deep down you know you sold out for money and control. Also the only ones owning guns are the ones taking our freedoms away. You are goose stepping stooges.

outofactor 10:06:27 PM May 12 2008

tanirocker is the thought police. Turn to Jesus Christ while you can. Soon all will be slaves to the beast system.. Did I make any mistakes? Might need to run this by the thot police.

tanirocker 09:04:23 PM May 12 2008

"You do not have the right to bear arms, you must bend over and comply. If you do not comply we will use our cattle prong on you to herd you, excuse me taser on you."

Cattle PRONG? LMAO It's called a cattle PROD, you moron.

BTW, the second amendment says that we have a right to a WELL-REGULATED MILITIA. That doesn't mean that any yahoo can carry a gun wherever they please. Anyone who is stupid enough to be a Republican is far too stupid to be trusted with a firearm.

These rightwing conspiracy idiots should all be locked up.

joanmalt914 drools: "That is, Farina, not Obama. Obama's brain power is mute."

LMAO MUTE?? It cracks me up when someone has the nerve to disparage an honor graduate from an Ivy League law school, and uses the WRONG WORD.

You meant MOOT, you dim-wit.

tanirocker 08:55:51 PM May 12 2008

A rightwinger getting in trouble for guns...imagine that. As a former cop, he knew better, but he, like most rightwingers, thinks that rules don't apply to him.

Dennis Farina is a reactionary scumbag. He was one of the Chicago cops who BEAT people outside the Democratic Convention in 1968. I hope they throw the book at him.

incrediblehultz 04:56:44 PM May 12 2008

oh please give me a break...a first offense like this should never involve jail. Esp a mistake. If he was brandishing it or walking around with it, that would be a different story.
