Sorry, Scottgun, but if 'popularity' was the criteria, then David A would have won hands down! All the teenyboppers and LDS people were saturating the online blogs with posts about 'how cute' he is, 'how pure' he is, 'how God wants him to win', and other such typical posts. All geared to appeal to the 'innocent' quality. Yes, he's a decent singer..and a seemingly sweet and nice kid. But David Cook has the REAL voice and musical capabilities to be a genuine performer. Clearly you haven't listened to his version of "Music of the Night'. It was completely brilliant. Modulated and never shrieky or harsh...he isn't 'just' a 'rocker'. He can do it all, and I'm looking forward to hearing some ballads from him as well. He could put out a 'finished' and professional CD tomorrow and it would sell.

AS GOOD AS DAVID ARCHULETA IS... DAVID COOK HAD STAR WRITTEN ALL OVER HIM! PLUS, HE TOOK RISKS WITH HIS MUSIC AND SELECTIONS MAKING HIM A TARGET FOR SIMON WHO LATER APOLOGISED TO HIM FOR BEING SO CRITICAL. HE TOOK CHANCES AND IT WON HIM THE IDOL TITLE. GOOD LUCK TO BOTH DAVIDS IN THEIR FUTURE ENDEVORS.

Well said Scottgun, I could not agree more. What does age have to do with anything, Im seriously starting to question the authenticity of this show. If thats the case a 17 year old should not be allowed to compete. They blame David A' Dad, David A's age, the type song he sings, but never is it about the best vocals, not really,even tho they keep telling us thats what they are looking for !!! I dont think Cook hit one note on his coronation song that was on key, This has been my biggest problem with him all along. I think hes a nice enough guy, but he does not have the vocal capabilities of David A. on his best day. AND the fact that the judges would bulid such a young kid up like they did on the finale, only to lose to a lesser talent because he is a "Rocker" Then for Simon to come on the Finale show and say it sounded a lot different on his tv, Im sorry, but this was simply TACKY and what was this all about??? I was watching it on my TV and I had no problem at all hearing picking the

Everyone I know agrees with the cook winner, He will go far.

David Cook was able to offer more than the same old crap Archie sang week after week. Archie would have be a winner if we were living back in the 1940's.

Any person how watched the final knows the wrong person won. Sorry but this was won on popularity not talent. It was not even close. As always every year they get it wrong.

Yeah....the best David won.(Cook that is) As I heard some where, the younger David has plenty of time and talent to get ahead in the music biz, and the older David got his just dues paid for. Being a musician and singer makes him more of an Idol to me and my family. WAY TO GO DAVID COOK!!!!ROCK ON!!!!
