'CSI' Star Charged With Drug Possession

LOS ANGELES (May 7) - Actor Gary Dourdan, best known as a forensics investigator on the hit TV show "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," was charged Wednesday with possession of heroin, cocaine and ecstasy.

The charges stem from the 41-year-actor's April 28 arrest in the desert resort city of Palm Springs, after police found him asleep in the driver's seat of a car shortly before dawn.

Roger Clemens is accused of carrying on a decade-long relationship with troubled country singer Mindy McCready that began with she was on 15. The New York Daily News report could damage the baseball legend's credibility in his lawsuit against a former trainer.

Shia LaBeouf, who already got off of trespassing charges for a possibly-drunk Walgreens arrest, briefly had a $1,000 bench warrant against him after failing to appear in court for a smoking offense. The warrant was subsequently dismissed when LaBeouf's attorney entered a not-guilty plea.

The car was parked on the wrong side of the road with the interior light left on. Police said Dourdan appeared disoriented and "possibly under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs" when approached by an officer.

A search of the car turned up cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and various prescription drugs, as well as drug paraphernalia,

He was booked for possession of narcotics and dangerous drugs and jailed for about five hours, then released on $5,000 bail, police said.

Dourdan was charged with one count each of possessing heroin, cocaine and ecstasy. A Riverside County District Attorney's spokeswoman said that if convicted he would likely face probation and be sent to a drug diversion program.

He is due in court for an arraignment on May 28.

A native of Philadelphia, Dourdan got his start on the TV sitcom "A Different World" and later appeared on the cable network series "Soul Food."

He also starred in the 1997 film "Alien: Resurrection" but is best known for his role as forensics investigator Warrick Brown on "CSI," which has ranked as the most watched drama on U.S. television for much of its run.

Screwed up and now he's been kicked off the show too bad. A case of the actor becoming the part. How about these celebs, heroin, X, coke, Rx and he gets $5,000 bail. I got busted for crimnal trespass and got $5,000 what a bunch of crap.

I never really liked his character on the show. He was a gambling addict in the beginning and now a druggie on the show. He always came across as thinking he's god's gift.

I'm REALLY glad Jorja Fox is gone. I hated her character; always jealous of everyone, too ambitious, whiney and a do-gooder. She is seriously ugly.

My favorites are Nick and Greg. Every actor on the show is b-list.

Wealthy, well-known, and successfully employed in one of the highest rated prime time shows. Mr. Brown is throwing away a life most actors would love to have just one year of. This incident sounds like far more than addiction - it sounds like a suicide rehearsal. Get help, fella!

Selfishly, as a fan of the show I was hoping they'd finally let Warrick and Catherine get together. But there's a gender imbalance since Jorja Fox left so maybe the show runners will finally come up with another female lead.
