Ron Wood is seeking treatment for problems with alcohol. "Following Ronnie's continued battle with alcohol he has entered a period of rehab. His close family and friends say he is seeking help and look forward to his recover," the Rolling Stones guitarist's spokeswoman said.

Among the celebrities slated to participate are Rodney King, Tawny Kitaen, former Guns 'n' Roses drummer Steven Alder, Sean Stewart (son of Rod), model Amber Smith, former "American Idol" contestant Nikki McKibbin, and -- after choosing to leave the show's first season before filming was completed -- actor Jeff Conaway.

Actor Gary Busey also will participate, joining the cast to talk about his recovery from cocaine addiction.

The show will follow the group of celebrity patients as they detoxify during a 21-day intensive program at a rehab center in Los Angeles, with the help of Dr. Drew Pinsky and his staff.

"Over the course of the first season we were inundated with positive feedback about the series from our viewers and those in the rehab community,” Jeff Olde, executive vice president of original programming and production for VH1, said in a statement. “Dr. Drew is a powerful, positive force for those seeking recovery."

I really am scared that Gary Busey has made a career out of being a burned out closed head injury having drug and alcohol abuser(recovered?). A lot of people laughed at how he reamed out an 11 year old reporter(and how the tween was more in control than a middle aged man). It's a bit of a toss up which killed more brain cells, the motorcycle accident(which I have no sympathy because he chose to ride without the helmet)or the drugs and alcohol. Either way, he's gaining fame(infamy?)by staggering around events molesting working actresses or ranting tangents as a "talking head" on snark shows and making absolutely no sense at all. I guess it's fame for fame's sake these days.

Anyway, I'd enjoyed some of his films prior to that, but in that one moment, I lost all respect for him and haven't watched another one of his films again. Being drunk in public is one thing, it happens. But being drunk and OBNOXIOUS and throwing your weight around by yelling at your waitress (when you were probably too wasted to tell her not to put salt on your glass to begin with), is not something a real man does. In my opinion.

Cocaine? What about his ALCOHOL habit? Roughly 12 years ago I was at a table at a bar/restaurant in Austin call LaZona Rosa when Busey came in staggering drunk with this woman on his arm who looked like my grandmother (if my grandmother had been stringy bottle blonde crack *****, which she wasn't, so actually, the chick he was with looked ten times worse than my grandmother did... oh say, about ten years after we buried her). And he started yelling at his waitress obnoxiously, saying, "I told you, "No f'ing salt on that!" - talking about a margarita he'd ordered either for himself or his date. Idiot. He kept loudly asking about Willie Nelson's picnic. He wanted to go to it and didn't know how to get there or something - Probably wasn't invited...

rachaelfrem: Gary Busey was in a motorcycle accident a few years back -- he had a terrible head injury.

What happened to Busey? I mean he looks literally messed up. Was he in an accident or something? Good for him if he wants to help others now..

this is for any of you have may have missed the post by nbf4547......"how about a show that injects truth serum into the veins of all politicians and major corp. CEOs, and questions them about screwing the american public.....Throw Allen Greenspan in there for good measure. These other shows just divert peoples minds from the horrific state of our economy.....The only ones making money here are the Dr. and network. we have become a society with " Inquirer" minds, as in National. .............Scary'

The price paid to get Clean and Sober is only two dollars thrown in the basket attending A. A. meetings and by getting a strong Sponsor who is working the steps. Most treatment centers rate on continuous sobriety is at a 50% level and under the care of people who don't understand the disease

nbf4547...ya know **ponders your comment ** you might be onto something there..lol. Now THAT would be a show worth watching !!!!! Hmmm....I think that should be a suggestion to be sent to the networks. I bet the ratings would go through the roof ! Not too mention that we would all be informed with the TRUTH to help us decide on who would be best suited for the President of the USA. There is a show sort of like that, where they hook people up to lie dectors, and then later ask them questions relating to that. Im sure you meant your comment as a slight joke, but I think its a FANTASTIC idea. Yet, Im have no doubt, there would hardly be a politican out there willing to do that. Still....great idea !

chelly51299...lol...I like the meaning of S.O.B.E.R....lol....so true for those who have been addicted to ANY substance. For the first time in ( often) YEARS, they are having to see the world with clear vision. Reality can often ( and does, often ) send them right back into that very addiction they fought to get away from. Everyone is different, but for those who have suffered addictions, or work with people who have addictions, can tell you that life, being sober, can be the hardest part of all. Especially when it comes time to hear from those they love about all the pain the addict put them through and things they did. Shame is never easy to face.

Rehab is a place to be taken very seriously. Famous people should never try to exploit it or mislead people because the key word in NA or AA is anonymous. It is a very private process not suitedto entertainment. The producers of the show should know that. When the millions of people start watching this show some of them who are inclined to use drugs and alcohol for an escape will think this will give them the green light get high . From the the ones I've seen ( rehabs) "it aint no party". Anybody can go through the motions but can they get sober and stay sober. By the way sober means " son of a ***** evrything is real."

CORRECTION TYPO, ANGELBABYMOI... MADE ME REALLY UPSET HERE! It was supposed to have said that : I can't believe that you bring up Jeff Conway NOW and drugs.

breybreybrey 02:08:20 PM Jun 11 2008

Personally, I see this show with SOME positives. One positive would be that for some young people who havent used drugs, but have given it some thought, can see the results from it. The one thing that bothers me the most about all this "rehab" for the rich is that there are NOT enough REAL rehabs available for those in the working class world. Thats where the real problem is. What rehabs there are available, have a long waiting list. And since they are funded by the state, they often do not have the resources to donate such GOOD quality help that is needed. It isnt the wealthy who clogged the judical system with drug arrests, its the people on the other side to the soci-economical scale. I dont think anyone DECIDES to become an addict, but nontheless, they do end up in that situation and all too often, with no where to get the much needed help.
