Carey, Cannon Discuss Beachside Nuptials

(May 7) - Yep, they did it! If there was any doubt Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's wedding was the real deal, they answer the question once and for all in this week's issue of PEOPLE, speaking for the first time about their surprise nuptials – and showing off exclusive photos from their April 30 ceremony.

"We really do share a similar spiritual outlook on life," Mariah Carey tells Elle about husband Nick Cannon, saying they kept their affair under wraps at first. "We really kept the whole relationship aspect of it quiet. Therefore, we didn't really 'date,' you know what I mean? Because that would have been not quiet or private."

"When I was unhappy in a place in my life, I always wanted to be kidnapped," says Carey about her rocky marriage to music mogul Tommy Mottola. "I just wanted a way out, but I didn't have one."

Carey and Cannon met in 2005 at the Teen Choice Awards, where Cannon presented her the award for Choice Music R&B Artist. The two started to date after Cannon filmed scenes for Carey's video, 'Bye Bye.'

Marrying a woman 11 years older; egads!!!!!!!!!..... Plus, everybody knows white women age in a hurry and furiously.....This probably wont last, but best of luck.I hate to say it...WRINKLES DON'T LIE......MOST WHITE WOMEN Have them by mid-thirties; then the wrinkles drastically accelerate for every year after.

The wedding of Carey and Cannon should have been a private moment and for all thise that thinks otherwise is foolish, because a wedding day is private for that couple to share. Imagine your wedding day you would'nt want chaos or extra problemsfor them. Wedding days are a special occasion for that couple and showing anmd printing or selling pictures of their wedding is terrible , let them make that call, not no one else. thats just my opinion.
