Backstage Report: 'Dancing' Sends Seymour Home

The TV Doctor Is Out; Marie Osmond Mourns The Loss of Her Father; 'Dancing' 'Curse' Nixed

Nov. 7 -- An informal poll of some audience members waiting in line to enter the 'Dancing' studio proved accurate: despite having a diverse fan base that spans four decades, Jane Seymour was voted off 'Dancing With The Stars' last night. The former Bond Girl spoke to AOL TV's Michael Maloney about her exit -- and why she'll continue to dance with partner Tony Dovolani.

How do you feel?
I feel like I won the jackpot. Being on the show was an extraordinary experience; it was beyond my wildest dreams. I've lost 22 pounds. I'm in better shape now than I could have imagined in any time of my life.
Do you have any acting roles coming up?
I love acting. I was offered a bunch of stuff while I was doing the show.
Would you like to do a guest spot on 'Supernatural' with Jensen Ackles, who played your son on 'Smallville'?
I love Jensen. (Smiles) He made a great son.
What are your thoughts on Tony?
He's a great gentleman, who's very supportive. He got more than a couple of amazing dances out of me.

Just because Seymour's out of the competition doesn't mean she and Dolovani will stop dancing. "He said he's going to come back [to L.A. from Connecticut] and find time to teach me the ones we would have done [had I continued on]," said Seymour. Said Dolovani: "Dancing now means so much to her. I feel it's my responsibility to make sure that she continues it."

Just as Seymour had lost her mother during the competition, Marie Osmond has also lost a parent -- her father, George Osmond, 90, died on Tuesday morning. Osmond (and her brother Donny, who's been a regular fixture at tapings as a TV correspondent), skipped the results program in order to be with her family. Ironically, Osmond and her partner Jonathan Roberts did the Quickstep to 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy' on Monday, in part, as a tribute to her parents, who wed in 1944.

"My mom was working in the military depot as a secretary," Osmond shared after Monday's performance. "My dad was a sergeant and when he walked into the room, she said, 'I'm marrying that man!'" Osmond's dancing skills were partially inherited. "My dad was a real good 'hoofer,'" she recalled. "And my mom played saxophone ... they'd do dance contests to earn money for extra food."

Just how much extra lipstick did Osmond have on when she gave judge Len Goodman that colorful smooch? "A ton of it, baby," Osmond chuckled. "Last week [judges] Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli were kissed [by Melanie Brown and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy] and I didn't want Len to feel left out!"

Roberts spoke to Osmond on Tuesday after her father passed away. "She's with her family," Roberts reported. "She's got a great family and great kids." Just as Dolovani flew to England to support Seymour after her mother died, Roberts, too, will hop on a plane to Utah to be by his dance partner's side. "I told (Marie) that I'll be there whenever she wants or needs to practice and we'll fit it in with her family plans."

Call it ironic or fate, but one of the few celebrities at the studio on Tuesday was Lisa Williams, the real life medium and host of the Lifetime reality series 'Lisa Williams: Life Among The Dead.' "There are so many coincidences that have brought me here tonight," Williams shared. "I do believe in fate." Did Williams find that it was serendipitous that Osmond performed a dance linked to her parents on the night before her father died? "It's all very fated," Williams said. "(I) have a belief that life goes and (her father) is in a better place, but my heart goes out to Marie and her family in this moment."

Who's Your Favorite?

Seymour continued on in the competition in tribute to her Mom ('Dancing' was one of her favorite shows). Might Osmond, whom both host Tom Bergeron and Roberts said would return next week, do the same in honor of her late Dad? "Absolutely," Williams said. "It's always nice to do a tribute to your parents."

Williams shrugs off any 'Dancing' curse. "I don't believe in that [theory]," Williams said. "People come together for a reason. Like attracts like. Jane losing her Mum; Marie losing her Dad. They pull each other through. That's very, very apparent today."

While she didn't predict a winner, Williams did say she has a favorite among the remaining contestants -- fellow Brit and Spice Girl Mel Brown. "She's an English girl, so I'm rooting for her!"

Brown's Paso Doble with Chmerkovskiy -- wowed the audience and the judges (Goodman called it the "dance of the season so far"); the leather-clad duo was invited to reprise their sexy number on the results show. Did scoring a perfect 30 give the duo a sense of security going into Tuesday night? "You never know," Brown cautioned. "Sabrina (Bryan) left (last week)."

The celebrities and dancers showed their support and solidarity of the ousted Cheetah Girl (and her partner Mark Ballas) by wearing temporary 'Cheetah' paw print tattoos on their bodies. "We all love Sabrina and we think it's ridiculous that she's not here," said Edyta Sliwinska. But the show must go on. So how confident was she that her dancing partner, Cameron Mathison, would clear her head when he jumped over it during their performance? "I was 100 percent sure," she stated. "There was so much space -- there was no way he would (hit) me."

Ditto for Julianne Hough, whose partner Helio Castroneves, slid between her legs on Monday night. "He almost hit me," reported Hough. "That's why I was off balance." She was? We didn't notice. "Oh, then, never mind!" Hough laughed.

The hit of the night was 'Dance Center' -- the hilarious analysis show within the show that made fun of the contestants and was hosted by 'Dancing' judge Len Goodman, former contestant and National Football League star Jerry Rice and ESPN's Kenny Mayne, who played his role with deadpan perfection! How did the celebrities react to being ridiculed? "I was laughing," said Castroneves. "We all were. They should have shown our reactions. They did a heck of a job."
