11. The French Rebellion
The French version of 'Big Brother', called 'Loft Story,' wasn't quite what the French considered to be quality programming. In fact, activists protested the show several times, dumping bags of trash outside the show's headquarters and attempting to raid the 'Loft Story' bastille to halt the filming of the show.
10. Delayed Bereavement
Prior to 'Big Brother Australia 2007,' contestant Emma Cornell's father was gravely ill with cancer. Three weeks into the 'Big Brother' competition, Emma's father passed away. The producers kept this information from Emma at her family's request, but the public was outraged. Emma didn't learn the truth until she was evicted from the house on day 50, nearly a month after her father died.
9. No Hanky Panky in Portugal
A roll in the hay is considered par for the course in most 'Big Brother' houses, but in Portugal it cost two contestants their place in the competition. After consummating their relationship on-air, the duo received the boot. But the couple wrote their own happy ending, getting hitched just a few months after their eviction.
