'24' Season Three Highlights

A body infected with a deadly virus is deposited in front of the National Health Services building. CTU learns this is a blackmail tactic to secure drug lord Ramon Salazar's release. Agents Jack Bauer and Chase Edmunds interrogate Salazar. Meanwhile, President David Palmer is back in Los Angeles for the first time in three years.

Kim Bauer is now working at CTU and secretly dating Chase. When Jack finds out, he's not happy. Later, he heads up to his office, where he pulls out a syringe and a stash of heroin. Jack became an addict while secretly undercover in the Salazar organization.

Kyle Singer's girlfriend, Linda, finds the cocaine he's planning to sell. She throws the powder into the toilet just as CTU agents break into the house. The virus, made to look like cocaine, is now in the sewage system. Kyle is infected with the virus and later dies.

Hector Salazar demands that his brother be released from prison. With the President's secret permission, Jack frees Ramon by starting a prison riot. Chase tries to stop him, but gets knocked out. Back at CTU, division director Ryan Chappelle accuses Gael Ortega of being a mole.

Jack and Ramon fly to Mexico, where the Salazar brothers reunite. Jack evades execution by offering to help acquire the virus. When Jack and the Salazars meet with Michael Amador, the virus seller, they face a competitor: Nina Myers. She buys the virus and takes off.

One of Palmer's biggest campaign contributors, Alan Milliken, blackmails him with dirt on Wayne. Palmer calls in ex-wife Sherry for help. When Alan suffers a heart attack, Sherry stops his wife, Julia, from giving him medicine. Alan Milliken dies, and Palmer covers for his wife with the police.

'24' Season Three Highlights

During a firefight, Amador escapes with the virus, the Salazars are killed and Nina is captured. At CTU, Nina attempts to break free, but Kim corners her. When Jack sees them together, he kills Nina. Michelle Dessler and Gael head to a targeted hotel, but are too late. Gael is infected and dies.

A man named Stephen Saunders contacts the President, threatening to unleash more of the virus. Saunders demands that Chappelle be executed, and Jack is forced to shoot him in the head.

While Saunders makes more demands, Kim Bauer goes undercover to take Saunders' daughter into custody. President Palmer discovers Sherry has told his opponent, Senator Keeler, about Milliken's death and cover-up.

In retaliation for his daughter, Saunders kidnaps Michelle and forces her husband, Tony, to help him. Elsewhere, Wayne Palmer breaks into Sherry's house to recover the evidence linking his brother to Milliken's death. There, he watches helplessly as Julia Milliken shoots Sherry.

Tony tries to save his wife from Saunders, but his actions leave him facing treason charges. Saunders is captured and reveals the location of the rest of the virus. But when he gets to CTU, Gael Ortega's widow kills him. After Sherry's death, President Palmer drops out of the race.

'24' Season Three Highlights

Jack and Chase hunt down the man who has the last vial of the virus. During a struggle, Chase handcuffs the case and its armed detonator to his hand. Jack hacks off Chase's hand with an axe and throws the case into a refrigerator before it explodes.
