Emmys 2009 Best & Worst Hair, Accessories

    Best: Jeepers Peepers

We love a sharp pair of spectacles on a man. Stars like Rainn Wilson, Kevin Bacon and Jerry Ferrara pull them off with ease, but to see Justin Timberlake taking the trend to the next level at the Emmys, well ... the man can do no wrong.

    Worst: Tie One On

Sandra Oh's golden strapless gown is positively stunning, but what is going on with that low-slung skinny belt? It cuts her already petite frame in half, and makes us wish she'd gone without.

    Best: Baring It All

Sorry jewelers -- blame it on the economy, but looks like the ladies have scaled back on the usual excessive-gem look. There were quite a few beauties with bare necks on the red carpet, from Tina Fey and Heidi Klum to Jenna Fischer, Kate Walsh and Julie Benz.

    Worst: Vested Interest

Jon Cryer might've taken home the award for best supporting actor in a comedy, but he's not getting any praise for his ensemble. Mixing it up is one thing, but adding a striped knit vest over his striped tie? We give it two and a half thumbs down.

    Best: Take a Bow

There were several twists on the tux and tie this year, but our favorite dapper gent accessorizing came from David Boreanaz and his classic bowtie. No adjusting needed, David -- it looks perfect.

    Worst: Future's So Bright

We get it -- it's very sunny in L.A. But hundreds of other celebs managed to walk the red carpet sans their signature shades, so why can't you? And yes, we mean you Glenn Close. Bill Paxton, consider this your first strike.

    Best: Color Pops

There was plenty of black and white on the red carpet, so the pops of color we did see were very welcome -- thank you Mindy Kaling, Carrie Preston, Tracy Pollan, Jessica Lange and Anna Torv.

    Worst: Don't 'Dos

There were quite a few messy hairstyles on the red carpet -- chalk it up to the hot weather in L.A. -- but the most notably mussed were on the noggins of Lisa Edelstein, Hayden Panettiere, Christina Hendricks and Mary-Louise Parker. Get a brush.

    Best: Swing From Them

What better way to look glowing on Emmys night than to wear sparkly baubles to frame your face? Dangly earrings showed up on everyone -- Amy Poehler, Leighton Meester, Tina Fey, Cat Deeley, Shoreh Aghdashloo and more.

    Worst: Making It Look Effortless

Chevy Chase gets the award for least effort on the red carpet. Old suit? Check. Ratty t-shirt? Oh yeah. Sunglasses to show how little you really care? He's got 'em. Guess he's not too eager to plug his work on 'Community' for next year's nominations.

Everyone is sick of Hollywood, a bunch of self-serving liberal idiots. When socialism kicks in, they won't be able to afford those dresses and fancy jewelry..scumbags

When I saw Hayden's hair, my first thought was that I was going to show my daughter that so she could have her hair like that for her wedding. It is WAY cute! I don't know what these critics are looking at. I thought Hayden looked stunning.

Don't know anything about neo-fashion but Julia Louis-Dreyfuss looked hot as heck. Sandra Oh with the "non-essential" golden belt carressing her hips while she walked was kinda' a turn-on. Guys perspective.

Ok, for one thing Mary-Louise Parker looks amazing with that hairstyle. Looks like some critics aren't up to date with the new fashion.

Christina Hendricks looked fabulous. There is little worse than the wannabes and has beens and hangers on criticizing the stars they are obviously envious of!

The attractiveness of a hairdo or a person or a landscape is an entirely subjective affair. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." There is no onjective standard as these clods try to make it seem. Their taste in hairstyle is NOT an "onjective standard" and is of no kore value than your own or anyone else's. The people who set themselves up as such "objective" judges of beauty are delusional fools as are their followers.

I wondered about some of those hairstyles that were pulled back & formed into a messy nest. Hiar stylists must be getting lazy. Also, there's a limit as to how long a woman's hair should be. Some people were virtual Rapunzels!

For the record & no offence to commenter Heidi is about the most beautiful pregnant woman I've ever seen. I would have killed to look that great while expecting.

nice gowns, but a no class industry. The pimp prducers actually have given us nightly programs of toilet humor, written by a for seventh grade drop outs. They actually showed a bit from one of their ********** on the awards last night, a woman was sitting on a toilet. That was a laugh getter. AN ALL TIME LOW. DUMP THEM, WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS CRAP. CONTACT YOUR CONGRESSMAN AND LET HIM KNOW THESE BUNDLES OF SHOWS OUGHT TO BE OUTLAWED AND WE SHOULD PICK OUR OWN SHOWS

Enough of Sandra Oh already. For god sake there were some great ones but also some sad messes. Patricia Arquette, what the h*** was that. Chritina Appelgates dress was hideous. Good job to Drew, blake, and Debra Messing always looks fantastic. Heidi Klum , please leave the runway
