Never Won An Emmy

It's a fact that awards aren't necessarily the best indicator of quality. But that doesn't make it any less shocking that Angela Lansbury has been nominated <i>18 times</i> but never won an Emmy ... or that Heather Locklear and Michael Landon have zero Emmy noms between them. Check out 34 actors who've only dreamed of clutching that golden statuette.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/sandra-oh/197286' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Sandra Oh</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 4</b>

After back-to-back (to-back!) Emmy losses for her nominated role as Cristina Yang on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/greys-anatomy/426427/main' target='_blank'>'Grey's Anatomy,'</a> Oh might finally have a shot -- <i>seriously.</i> Two-time victor <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/blythe-danner/16922' target='_blank'>Blythe Danner's</a> show <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/huff/190850/main' target='_blank'>'Huff'</a> is long gone and, well, so is Oh's 'Grey's' co-star (and last year's champ) <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/katherine-heigl/31545' target='_blank'>Katherine Heigl</a>.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/hugh-laurie/40810' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Hugh Laurie</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 3</b>

Laurie was off to a good start when he was nominated for the first season of <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/house/113097/main' target='_blank'>'House.'</a> But the next year, he was snubbed -- while 'House' was nominated for Best Drama Series. He&#39;s been nominated twice since, including for last season. Will voters make up for past mistakes and kick him off our list? We&#39;ll know when we watch the show.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/jennifer-garner/230436' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Jennifer Garner</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 4</b>

In five seasons, Jennifer Garner kicked enough butt on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/alias/69699/main' target='_blank'>'Alias'</a> to garner four Emmy nominations, a Golden Globe, and a SAG award. Although she never won an Emmy, she left 'Alias' without any major career bruises. She already had the hit movie <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/13-going-on-30/53901/main' target='_blank'>'13 Going on 30'</a> under her belt, and just last year she co-starred in the Oscar-winning <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/juno/10215484/main' target='_blank'>'Juno.'</a>

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/jane-kaczmarek/36607' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Jane Kaczmarek</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 7</b>

Kaczmarek ended her run on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/malcolm-in-the-middle/129858/main' target='_blank'>'Malcolm in the Middle'</a> as a bridesmaid: She was nominated seven consecutive times, but failed to win a single Emmy. Her last chance was in 2006, when she was the only returning nominee; but it was out with the old and in with the new when <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/julia-louis-dreyfus/43397' target='_blank'>Julia Louis-Dreyfus</a> won for <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/the-new-adventures-of-old-christine/173930/main' target='_blank'>'The New Adventures of Old Christine.'</a>

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/lauren-graham/237425' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Lauren Graham</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 0</b>

We loved her for seven years (2000-'07) on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/gilmore-girls/59607/main' target='_blank'>'Gilmore Girls,'</a> but apparently the Academy of TV Arts and Sciences didn't share our affection. Poor Lorelai -- but at least she saw Rory earn her Ivy League degree and ended up with the right guy ... and Graham did score a Golden Globe nod in '02 and People's Choice nom in '05.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/calista-flockhart/215347' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Calista Flockhart</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 3</b>

Flockhart&#39;s performance as the miniskirt-wearing lawyer quickly earned her a Golden Globe, a SAG and a spot on the cover of Time Magazine. But that wasn&#39;t enough for Emmy voters. Even when <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/ally-mcbeal/238646/main' target='_blank'>'Ally McBeal'</a> won Best Comedy Series in 1999, Flockhart lost the Emmy to <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/helen-hunt/33968' target='_blank'>Helen Hunt</a> for the second year in a row. We object!

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/george-clooney/13722' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>George Clooney</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 2</b>

Clooney&#39;s star was born the moment <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/er/49782/main' target='_blank'>'ER'</a> premiered in 1994. He won legions of fans -- and two Emmy nominations -- playing the hunky doc Doug Ross. The Emmy nominations were short-lived, but it was their loss: Nearly a decade later, Clooney has won two Golden Globes and an Oscar.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/courteney-cox-arquette/15465' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Courteney Cox</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 0</b>

Cox's relationship with Emmy hasn't been friendly. For 10 seasons she was Monica Gellar on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/friends/49924/main/' target='_blank'>'Friends'</a> and every year she was snubbed. But that didn't stop voters from becoming BFFs with the rest of the cast: <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/jennifer-aniston/1831' target='_blank'>Jennifer Aniston</a> and <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/lisa-kudrow/39535' target='_blank'>Lisa Kudrow</a> both won Emmys, and <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/matt-leblanc/41149' target='_blank'>Matt LeBlanc</a>, <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/matthew-perry/56182' target='_blank'>Matthew Perry</a>, and <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/david-schwimmer/211130' target='_blank'>David Schwimmer</a> were all nominated at least once.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/david-duchovny/20329' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>David Duchovny</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 4</b>

He was only nominated twice for his nine-year run on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/the-x-files/49289/main' target='_blank'>'The X-Files'</a> ('93-'02); his other two noms were for guest spots -- on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/the-x-files/49289/main' target='_blank'>'The Larry Sanders Show'</a> and <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/life-with-bonnie/303935/main' target='_blank'>'Life With Bonnie.'</a> If we didn't know better, we'd say Agent Mulder was the victim of some kind of conspiracy.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/jason-alexander/832' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Jason Alexander</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 8</b>

Seven of Alexander's nods were for playing George Costanza on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/seinfeld/133597/main' target='_blank'>'Seinfeld,'</a> one of the highest-rated series of the &#39;90s, and also one of the highest rewarded: co-stars <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/jerry-seinfeld/64376' target='_blank'>Jerry Seinfeld</a>, <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/julia-louis-dreyfus/43397' target='_blank'>Julia Louis-Dreyfus</a> and <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/michael-richards/60041' target='_blank'>'Seinfeld,'</a> all won Emmys. But when the show ended in &#39;98, Alexander was as much of an Emmy winner as Costanza was an architect.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/katey-sagal/62587' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Katey Sagal</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 0</b>

For a decade she sported a red wig and bad attitude as the <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/married-with-children/62847/main' target='_blank'>'Married With Children'</a> matriarch. She earned four Golden Globe nods, but got no Emmy love. She wasn't recognized for her <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/8-simple-rules/180547/main' target='_blank'>'8 Simple Rules'</a> stint (during which she movingly weathered losing TV hubby John Ritter) or her geektastic <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/futurama/99864/main' target='_blank'>'Futurama'</a> turn, either. Maybe Emmy will bite with hew new show, <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/sons-of-anarchy/10280386/main' target='_blank'>'Sons of Anarchy.'</a>

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/cybill-shepherd/65168' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Cybill Shepherd</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 4</b>

Don't hate her because she's beautiful <i>and</i> funny. Former model Shepherd scored one Emmy nod for <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/moonlighting/10131216/main' target='_blank'>'Moonlighting'</a> and three for her eponymous '90s sitcom, <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/cybill/230744/main' target='_blank'>'Cybill,'</a> but was never called to the Emmys podium as a winner. She did score a '96 Golden Globe, though, so maybe we do hate her ... just a little

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/angela-lansbury/40519' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Angela Lansbury</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 18</b>

After seven decades in showbiz, she's a true living legend, with four Tony Awards, six Golden Globes and three Oscar nods to her credit. And yet the role she's most recognized for -- mystery novelist-cum-amateur-sleuth Jessica Fletcher on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/murder-she-wrote/761685/main' target='_blank'>'Murder, She Wrote'</a> -- never earned her an Emmy, just 12 noms, for a career total of 18 and she never complained like <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/susan-lucci/43617' target='_blank'>Susan Lucci.</a>

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/phylicia-rashad/58856' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Phylicia Rashad</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 3</b>

She was nominated twice for her work as Clair Huxtable on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/the-cosby-show/62883/main' target='_blank'>'The Cosby Show,'</a> but she lost both times. She was a winner on Broadway, however: In '04, she became the first African-American actress to take home a Tony for Best Actress in a Play, for her performance in <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/a-raisin-in-the-sun/10159538/main' target='_blank'>'Raisin in the Sun.'</a> She reprised the role in the TV movie and is up for an Emmy this year. Third time's the charm?

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/mark-harmon/30474' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Mark Harmon</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 2</b>

<a href='http://television.aol.com/show/st-elsewhere/233652/main' target='_blank'>'St. Elsewhere,'</a> 'Reasonable Doubts,' <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/chicago-hope/229546/main' target='_blank'>'Chicago Hope'</a> and <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/ncis/163063/main' target='_blank'>'NCIS'</a> -- Harmon has appeared in almost 350 episodes (and counting!) of his four most successful series, but his only love from Emmy voters came for a four-episode guest stint on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/the-west-wing/55977/main' target='_blank'>'The West Wing'</a> and a supporting role in a made-for-TV movie. What's a guy gotta do?

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/heather-locklear/42894' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Heather Locklear</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 0</b>

The words "Heather Locklear" and "award-winning actress" may not sound like they go together, but the blonde beauty has been on <i>four</i> hit series: <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/tj-hooker/761637/main' target='_blank'>'T.J. Hooker'</a> and <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/dynasty/99558/main' target='_blank'>'Dynasty'</a> (which she shot simultaneously), <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/melrose-place/99997/main' target='_blank'>'Melrose Place'</a> and <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/spin-city/235183/main' target='_blank'>'Spin City,'</a> the last two shows netting her a total of six Golden Globe noms. She may not be Meryl Streep, but she's a TV icon.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/larry-hagman/9336' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Larry Hagman</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 2</b>

Everyone loved to hate J.R. Ewing -- his mysterious death even provided <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/dallas/99777/main' target='_blank'>'Dallas'</a> with one of its biggest watercooler moments. But Hagman, the only actor to appear in all 357 episodes of the show, came up short on both of his Emmy nods, as well as the four Golden Globe nods he got for the role. Maybe awards voters shot J.R.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/meredith-baxter-birney/302902' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Meredith Baxter Birney</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 3</b>

The tiny vocal powerhouse can line her shelves with theatre awards, including a Tony, but had never been nominated for an Emmy. Then on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/pushing-daisies/1342106/main' target='_blank'>'Pushing Daisies,'</a> Chenoweth was able to show off both her comedic and singing chops as a waitress with an unrequited crush.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/sherman-hemsley/31676' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Sherman Hemsley</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 1</b>

He may have been movin' on up to the East Side, but poor George Jefferson was going nowhere with the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. One nomination in the show's 10-year (1975-'85) run? Hemsley got taken to the cleaners on that deal.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/penny-marshall/101407' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Penny Marshall</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 0</b>

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight zero! That's right, zero Emmy nods in eight seasons on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/laverne-and-shirley/62892/main' target='_blank'>'Laverne & Shirley'</a> -- and you think it's easy putting up with Lenny and Squiggy? Still, Marshall got the last laugh, becoming the first female director to earn $100 million at the box office, with 'Big.' That's doing it her way.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/marion-ross/61642' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Marion Ross</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 5</b>

'Mrs. C' got two nods for playing the ever-cheerful Marion Cunningham on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/happy-days/62508/main' target='_blank'>'Happy Days,'</a> and two for her role on the family series <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/brooklyn-bridge/241090/main' target='_blank'>'Brooklyn Bridge.'</a> Alas, like many a real-life homemaker, she was overlooked in favor of more colorful personalities like <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/roseanne/2378' target='_blank'>Roseanne Barr</a> and <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/rhea-perlman/55684' target='_blank'>Rhea Perlman.</a> At least she had the Fonz's respect.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/buddy-ebsen/88623' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Buddy Ebsen</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 0</b>

No one from <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/the-beverly-hillbillies/62464/main' target='_blank'>'The Beverly Hillbillies' ('62-'71)</a> won an Emmy. But Jane Hathaway (<a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/nancy-kulp/39571' target='_blank'>Nancy Kulp</a>) and Granny (<a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/irene-ryan/62374' target='_blank'>Irene Ryan</a>) scored noms -- Ebsen, who played laconic patriarch Uncle Jed with a dignified aplomb, didn't even get that. Dang-gone it, the Academy could've at least shown the acting vet some love for 'Barnaby Jones' ('73-'80).

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/bob-newhart/52389' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Bob Newhart</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 5</b>

Bob may be too polite to say it, but we must: It's a travesty he didn't win an Emmy for his first namesake sitcom, <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/the-bob-newhart-show/228372/main' target='_blank'>'The Bob Newhart Show'</a> (he was only nominated once -- for writing!), or for his second, <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/newhart/228289/main' target='_blank'>'Newhart'</a> (three nominations). Heck, Academy, we'd even settle for a win with his last nom, in '04, for an <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/er/49782/main' target='_blank'>'ER'</a> guest spot.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/steve-allen/1073' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Steve Allen</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 6</b>

The first host of 'The Tonight Show' popularized the man-on-the-street interview; he hosted more shows than <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/conan-obrien/276931/' target='_blank'>Conan</a> has hair products; he even earned a Grammy. To use a phrase he coined on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/whats-my-line/49098/main' target='_blank'>'What's My Line?'</a> -- we know what's bigger than a breadbox, Emmy voters' shame in not giving this talk show pioneer his due.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/martin-landau/40247' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Martin Landau</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 6</b>

What if we told you that Martin Landau has three Globes and an Oscar, but no Emmy? Is that something you might be interested in? Landau was nominated three times as master of disguises Rollin Hand on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/mission-impossible/62543/main' target='_blank'>'Mission: Impossible,'</a> but lost two of those times to <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/bill-cosby/85992' target='_blank'>Billy Cosby</a> on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/i-spy/62518/main' target='_blank'>'I Spy.'</a> It's enough to make us all self-destruct.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/barbara-eden/21145' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Barbara Eden</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 0</b>

Who didn't 'Dream of Jeannie' the way Eden played her, as a naive beauty in sexy belly-baring costumes? The show ran for five years, '65-'70, but Jeannie lives on. If the Academy had known how iconic she'd be, surely they would've awarded her an Emmy, a nomination ... something. Guess they're not magic that way.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/david-janssen/35228' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>David Janssen</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 3</b>

Don't recognize the name? How about this phrase: "You killed my wife!" Janssen played the wrongly accused Dr. Richard Kimble on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/the-fugitive/233610/main' target='_blank'>'The Fugitive,'</a> the finale of which was watched by 72 percent of all TV viewers (it's still the third-highest-ranked episode of all time). And while the show won an Emmy in 1966, Janssen never did. Where is the justice?

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/andy-griffith/28827' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Andy Griffith</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 1</b>

Get this: Not only has Griffith never won an Emmy, he's never even been nominated for either of his long-running, popular series, <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/the-andy-griffith-show/62410/main' target='_blank'>'The Andy Griffith Show'</a> (1960-'68) or <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/matlock/62690/main' target='_blank'>'Matlock'</a> (1986-'95). His sole nod was for an '81 telepic, 'Murder in Texas.' Shame, shame. At least TV Land loves its legends -- 'TAGS' won the Legend Award in '04.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/michael-landon/98624' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Michael Landon</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 0</b>

You may know Michael Landon as Little Joe Cartwright on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/bonanza/62330/main' target='_blank'>'Bonanza'</a> ... or Charles Ingalls on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/little-house-on-the-prairie/62861/main' target='_blank'>'Little House on the Prairie'</a> ... or Jonathan Smith on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/highway-to-heaven/62805/main' target='_blank'>'Highway to Heaven.'</a> That's 652 episodes (oh, and he directed 203 of them) spanning 30 years -- and not a single nomination, despite one of the most prolific TV careers of all time.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/jackie-gleason/27204' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Jackie Gleason</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 5</b>

He might've been dubbed "The Great One," but Gleason's contributions to comedy and television failed to receive great honors. His 45-year career saw iconic TV shows like <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/the-honeymooners/62938/main' target='_blank'>'The Honeymooners'</a> and his hour-long variety hit, <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/jackie-gleason-show/228203/main' target='_blank'>'The Jackie Gleason Show,'</a> but the big-mouthed comedian never won Emmy gold. Hamana, hamana

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/ozzie-nelson/104254' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Ozzie Nelson</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 0</b>

For 14 years Nelson was the quintessential dad on <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/the-adventures-of-ozzie-and-harriet/62878/main' target='_blank'>'The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,'</a> still the longest-running live-action sitcom in TV history. Maybe the academy figured playing the patriarch to his real-life family wasn't much of a stretch; but surely he deserved SOME award for being so darn good to his kids.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/desi-arnaz/2319' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Desi Arnaz</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 0</b>

Emmy voters got some 'splaining to do! This TV legend teed up punch lines for on- and off-screen wife <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/lucille-ball/3574' target='_blank'>Lucille Ball</a> for years, but playing Ricky Ricardo scored him nada in the awards category. Cuban-born Arnaz was the only one of <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/i-love-lucy/62858/main' target='_blank'>'I Love Lucy''s</a> fab four never to get an Emmy nod -- Ball, <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/vivian-vance/72963' target='_blank'>Vivian Vance</a> and <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/william-frawley/24876' target='_blank'>William Frawley</a> each received at least four.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/gracie-allen/1015' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>Gracie Allen</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 5</b>

She and her husband/comedy partner <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/george-burns/9701' target='_blank'>George Burns</a> were a popular vaudeville and radio act before they became TV pioneers with 'The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show' in 1950, a year before <a href='http://television.aol.com/show/i-love-lucy/62858/main' target='_blank'>'I Love Lucy'</a> debuted. Although she earned five Emmy noms for her eponymous lovable lamebrain character, she never won, even though she paved the way for the female comedians who came after her.

Never Won An Emmy

<A HREF='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/george-burns/9701' target='_blank'><FONT COLOR='#2864B4'>George Burns</font></a>

<b>Nominations: 1</b>

Though he let his wife, <a href='http://television.aol.com/celebrity/gracie-allen/1015' target='_blank'>Gracie Allen,</a> deliver the punch lines on 'The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show,' he became a noted funnyman in his own right after her death. In the '70s, '80s and early '90s, he appeared in myriad specials, earning his sole Emmy nod for his work as a producer, not a performer, on 'The George Burns One-Man Show.' He didn't even get a posthumous statuette when he died at age 100.
