Tom DeLay to Quit 'Dancing With the Stars'

Tom Delay and Cheryl Burke, Dancing with the StarsSorry, Tom Delay, but you won't get to hold up that mirrorball trophy.

People.com reports that the former Republican House Majority Leader will drop out of the 'Dancing With the Stars' competition on tonight's results show. Delay is suffering from stress fractures in both feet, and was advised by doctors and producers not to continue dancing.

This is a turnaround from his position last night, when he said, "What's a little pain when we can party?" after performing the samba with partner Cheryl Burke.

The judges, though sympathetic, gave him a score of only 15, putting DeLay and Burke in second-to-last place.

'Dancing With the Stars' Season 9 Partners Announced

Edyta Sliwinska and Ashley Hamilton on Dancing With the StarsABC announced the 'Dancing With the Stars' partners for season 9 and the first thing we thought was ... Poor Edyta Sliwinska!

The pro dancer has appeared on every season of the show and never won (she placed second with NFL player Jason Taylor in season 6).

It appears her losing streak might continue, since she's been teamed up with unknown actor Ashley Hamilton, son of George Hamilton -- whom Edyta partnered in season 2. And, sure, dancing with both father and son makes for a great story, but couldn't 'DWTS' have thrown the sexy pro a bone by pairing with a surefire bet like Donny Osmond.

Of course, Ashley Hamilton could be this season's Gilles Marini (another unknown who finished second in the spring). Or he could end up just like his dad and land in fifth place. We tabbed him as potentially the first to go in our 'Dancing With the Stars' early predictions.

Lil' Kim's Wardrobe Malfunction (Almost, Sort Of, Not Quite)

So, apparently last night we missed the moment when Lil' Kim almost had a wardrobe malfunction. This, folks, is what passes for "scandal" on a very tame season of 'Dancing With the Stars.'

During Kim's judging, at about minute 53:00 into the show, Tom Bergeron shielded the rapper so she could adjust her top.

Kim later told an ABC affiliate, "I don't know why this happens a lot of the time, but the girls were trying to come out." Her partner, Derek Hough, meanwhile, joked to Us Weekly that she "desperately tried to pull a Janet Jackson."

'Bachelor' Reject Melissa Rycroft to Join 'Dancing'?

Melissa RycroftShe may have been dumped on national television, but 'Bachelor' finalist Melissa Rycroft could end up with a nice consolation prize: the mirrorball trophy.

PEOPLE magazine is reporting that the 24-year-old former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader will replace TV anchor Nancy O'Dell, who was forced to pull out of the competition due to injury. She will partner with pro Tony Dovolani.

Rycroft was actually the "winner" of 'Bachelor' Jason Mesnick's heart. In the season finale, the single dad chose and proposed to her over runner-up Molly Melaney. But on the 'After the Rose' post-show special, Mesnick not only broke up with her -- but revealed he still had feelings for Melaney.

Along with O'Dell, singer Jewel also dropped out of season 8. Reports say that 'Girl Next Door' star Holly Madison will replace her.

Injured Jewel May Quit 'Dancing'

JewelInjury strikes 'Dancing With the Stars' again -- and this time, before the season has even started!

Singer Jewel Kilcher, whose husband Ty Murray is also dancing in season 8, recently wrote on her blog that tendonitis in both knees may force her to bow out of the show.

"My knees have been hurting so badly that I finally broke down and talked to Ty's knee doctor yesterday," she wrote. "Now I'm just worried I won't even be able to dance!"

But there's some hope that treatment will help her stay in the competition: "Hopefully these steroids will really do the trick and I can keep bad flare ups at a bay in the future."

Donny OsmondAs if the news that Kevin Federline might be joining season 8's cast weren't enough to make us groan, now comes word that Donny Osmond might follow in his sister's 'Dancing' footsteps.

Donny leaked the rumor himself while taping 'The Bonnie Hunt Show.' First, he said he was "making an announcement," then slyly added, "I am seriously considering doing it, let's put it that way ... I guess I just let the cat out of the bag."

Kevin Federline May Join 'Dancing' Cast -- Really?!

Kevin FederlineOK, this latest casting rumor really baffled us. Kevin Federline, AKA the former Mr. Britney Spears, is in talks to join the eighth season of 'Dancing With the Stars,' according to Star magazine (via PerezHilton.com.)

First of all, when did being a pop star's ex make someone a, you know, "star"? Second, K-Fed was a professional dancer. Doesn't that go completely counter to the point of the show?

Granted, 'DWTS' did consider Kim Kardashian a "star," so perhaps this isn't too surprising. And K-Fed did act in a few episodes of 'One Tree Hill,' we'll give him that.
