Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin saw her chances of winning the mirror ball trophy sink tonight after she and partner Alec Mazo were voted off 'Dancing With the Stars.' The ejection came as a shock, given Coughlin's solid performances throughout the competition (though she and Mazo scored low this week with their routine).

AOL TV was backstage and spoke to Coughlin and Mazo on their surprise exit, as well as the rest of the pros and stars about the Michael Jackson tribute that was performed during tonight's results show.

The Iceman go-eth. Wrestling fans are pretty passionate, but not enough of them voted to keep Ultimate Fighting Champion Chuck Liddell (a.k.a. the Iceman) and his partner Anna Trebunskaya on 'Dancing With the Stars.' And he may be tough on the outside, but Liddell was pretty bummed about being ousted.

Another double elimination brings the 'Dancing With the Stars' star count down to less than a dozen still dancing.

Republican Tom DeLay's voluntary withdrawal from 'Dancing With the Stars' wasn't a huge surprise -- with stress fractures in both feet, there's not a Hollywood doctor who'd condone any strenuous activity, let alone dancing on national television.

But show producers made sure audience votes and judges' scores from Monday's performances still counted, and 'Entourage' actress Debi Mazar and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were also sent home.

In a not-so-surprise second week elimination, model and businesswoman Kathy Ireland and her partner Tony Dovolani were kicked off 'Dancing With the Stars.'

After a mediocre salsa, foxtrot and quickstep -- and scores to match -- Ireland was neck-and-neck with Tom DeLay as the next logical star to get the boot. AOL was on the scene to talk to Ireland and Dovolani immediately after the live broadcast about their untimely exit.

The first week of 'Dancing With the Stars' proved that the taller they are, the quicker they fall.

After receiving dismal scores from the judges for their first dances, actor Ashley Hamilton, who is 6'4", and singer Macy Gray, 6', were the first two casualties in season 9 of the reality dance competition.

AOL TV got the scoop from Hamilton and Gray about their eliminations, and got reactions from the other stars and dancers as well. -- By Mike Maloney

Macy Gray is the first contestant to cause a mini-controversy on the latest season of 'Dancing With the Stars.' After completing her first dance, the eccentric singer equated the experience to popping her "cherry" -- and censors quickly leaped into action by bleeping out the off-the-cuff remark.

When asked about using the term, Macy said: "My excitement was up. It was the first time. We finally did it. It was the best analogy I could think of. I thought it was a colloquial word."

Host Samantha Harris, who was interviewing the singer at the time, is hoping Macy's words don't leave producers with their fingers on the bleep button all season. "Everyone backstage ... was absolutely aghast that she used that phrase," she says. "We were all taken aback. It may not have been the most graceful way to say it but, hey, we all got the point. I think the comment would have made Cloris Leachman blush."

Names of the celebrities and the dancers for any upcoming season of 'Dancing With the Stars' are guarded like gold at Fort Knox. However, the folks at ABC just may have tipped their hand that last season's dancing pro newcomer Chelsie Hightower will be back in September for season 9 of the reality competition. How'd they do that? The network invited Hightower to mingle with the press at the ABC summer TV Critics party, which was recently held at the Langham hotel in Pasadena.
