After having amputee model Heather Mills and deaf actress Marlee Matlin, the people over at 'Dancing with the Stars' seem to be kicking the "wild card" factor up a notch this year. The 'DWTS' rumor mill is buzzing that music legend Stevie Wonder will compete on the show. It turns out the rumor is true -- sort of. Wonder confirmed to the press that he is in talks with the folks at ABC, "It'd be fun. It's not impossible, but right now it's just a thought," he said.
Wonder even jokes about his dancing skills, "Come on... If I have seven children, I've got to be able to dance right?"
While his appearance on the show is not yet set in stone, Wonder is looking forward to shedding a few of those holiday pounds. "I think it'd be fun – working on my little stomach thing here and losing some more weight."
So does Stevie Wonder have a real shot at the 'Dancing' crown or is he just being used for ratings?

gloria is right! its just about ratings. please preserve the integrity of the show and only put people on it that have a real shot at winning! i wanna see real dancing, not people that half try, cant feel a beat or act retarded! (cloris leachman, marly matlin, kim kardashian)these were all rediculous choices and it pissed me off to see them. i kept wondering why they never got voted off sooner. every season from the first day, I can tell you who will be in the final two just by looking at them. Bring on the real dancers. I wanna see britney spears, michael jackson (for ratings) and ciara. that would be a real competition because none have ballroom experience but they are already dancers. cool. maybe im just dreaming, but if the poor guy cant see the dance moves, its not gonnaa work too well. i love stevie but stick to music baby, please. youre too special to let them embarrass you like that.
I could NOT believe that they had the Jonas Bros. along side the most beautiful song writer in the world. Didn't anyone tell those little midgets to show respect for Stevie Wonder instead of having them leap in front of the camera that was meant for Steveie and ONLY Stevie. I cannot believe the conceipt of these new so-called groups.
The truth is, is that are are Disney Character's. To have them jump in front of our most beloved singer/songwriter was a disgrace. Will someone take those little kid's (including Miley) and tell them they have to attend Disney Etiquette School now. They should not be televised until they can learn respect and manners.
DWTS doesn't have any problem withatings.They've had some huge sports stars, but never a music star any where near his league. If Stevie wants to give it a try, he should go for it.
