BIOGRAPHY

American stage and film actor Trey Wilson first gained a measure of public exposure on a very short-lived satirical TV series, The News Is the News, in 1983. Though only in his mid-thirties, Wilson's gravelly voice and bulky frame enabled him to play a variety of middle-aged toughs. He was seen in this capacity as Jimmy Hoffa in the 1985 TV miniseries Robert F. Kennedy and His Times. Wilson's least menacing screen role was as Skip, the laconic minor league baseball manager, in 1988's Bull Durham. Trey Wilson died the following year of a cerebral hemmorhage; he was barely 40 years old. - Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
