BIOGRAPHY

Born in England, Penrose "Pen" Tennyson worked his way up the ranks at MGM's British studio facilities. Tennyson's first known credit was The Citadel (1938), in which he functioned as assistant director. Promoted to full director at the age of 21, he turned out three worthwhile films, which he also scripted: Proud Valley (1939), There Ain't No Justice (1939), and Convoy (1940). Pen Tennyson's promising career was tragically cut short when he was killed in action during WWII. - Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
